Well it was an interesting first round of the new tournament, and a similar scoring to the first round of the last one. Not much of a points disparity between top of the table and bottom, 13 points is easily caught up over 12 rounds, and also it means anyone who missed out on this week is not too far behind if they wish to join in the next round! The Ortiz fight is where all the 10-pointers were scored this week, shout outs to Bob N Weave, BOSS, jaman, Joemul, meetthefeebles, mikE, REEDsART and TKO for achieving the maximum on that fight. The Mitchell fight is where a fair few of us maybe went with our hearts over our head, costing us some points, at least it's early so hopefully...lesson learnt! Khan-Malignaggi was fairly straightforward, although one or two of you came close to getting the maximum 10 on that one too, close but no cigar! As for the table and the early leaders, shout outs to Bob N Weave, BOSS and REEDsART who are all joint top after Round one with 19 points! :bears: Two newcomers into this tournament in Bob N Weave and BOSS and they are showing some of us veterans a thing or two already! Whilst Reed is backing up his boasts this time after pushing hard last time out. Can they keep it up? It remains to be seen! The last League champion, Salaco, sits 7 points off in joint 7th place at the moment, but I think we all remember how he put on a late run last time out to snatch the title away in the last few weeks! A few guys who said they'd take part like *Z* and Sly (mr unofficial prediction king, apparently ::) didn't post, hopefully they'll be involved next round. Anyway, enough of my rambling, here is the table after Round One: 1. Bob N Weave 19pts 1= BOSS 19pts 1= REEDsART 19pts 4. jaman 16pts 4= joemul 16pts 4= meetthefeebles 16pts 7. bpg 12pts 7= Joe King 12pts 7= Pagan 12pts 7= Salaco 12pts 11. TKO 10pts 12. barneyboy2001 9pts 12= Buddy Rydell 9pts 12= mikE 9pts 12= shake_and_bake83 9pts 12= Slice N Dice 9pts 12= whiskey 9pts 18. The Ripper 6pts So there you go! Congrats to Bob N Weave, BOSS and REEDsART! And thanks to all who took part in Round One! I will give you all a heads up for when Round Two will take place! If I have tallied anyones score incorrectly or missed anything out, please let me know asap and I will amend accordingly, thanks. Until then, peace! SnD
Great job Slice and Dice and just like I said I haven't picked a winner incorrectly since 1983 so good luck to you all because as the first round proves it you're all gonna need it. Oh ya last thing I gotta ask you all before I finish this post. Who's your daddy?
Hey! I predicted Khan by TKO, why don't I have points? Seriously, I'd like to join the competition if I can, I picked Khan by tko between the 5th & 8th (half points surely?) And wrongly picked Campbell (hadn't seen much of either man, I must admit)
Yo dude, I don't think you posted your prediction in the thread, maybe you posted it someone else. The league prediction threads will usually be stickied at the top of the page bro. You're welcome to join any time you like mate, there isn't much of a lead to claw back either so you still have a great shot at winning it if you're good enough. What do you people think of Cotto-Foreman for Round two? Unless there's some fights before that you'd like to included?
I was thinking that, but there didn't seem to be many other fights to make up the other two slots, had another look though and there's some decent match-ups, if not big names. So yea good shout, will probably be that
Surely there are more fights in between. Post as many obscure fights as possible too. That's where the men are seperated from the boys, outside of the catholic church of course:mj:JK
No real eye catching fights that stand out next week Rhodes v Messi - EBU light-middleweight title :dunno: Chageev v Meehan :dunno:
Vazquez-Marquez IV is the only one which stands out in that week, it will probably be the Vitali fight next
I got robbed! I was out of town from Wednesday until today, I didn't see this shit posted on Monday or Tuesday! Bastard. The fix is in.
:crafty: :: I wouldn't worry about it bro, 19 points isn't really a huge lead to claw back. Next round is Klitschko-Sodonowzowesameshki so you have a heads up. By the way, Mr "Unofficially The Best Prediction Expert on Fightbeat" bottled it so we're all safe for now ::
