When Maidana is concerned, the only thing that Khan fills is his pants.

Boxing Monthly have had Hatton ahead of Khan for some time now....even after the loss to Pedquaio.

Which is utterly ridiculous, and it's a shame because I'm a fan of their rankings usually.

Maidana has a suspect chin - got floored 3 times by Ortiz
Khan is faster and has better all round boxing skills.
    Khan can outbox Maidana.

Even when Hatton was at his best Khan would be too much for him. Better skills and alot faster.

Because Hatton hasn't won a fight at 140 since November 2008, against a guy Khan just beat in more convincing fashion

    WHAT?

Paulie won the first round..then got broken down. Paulie was never remotely close to being floored against Khan, but he was grabbing Hatton in order to just stay up. Hatton visibly moved Paulie with single shots.

I think Khan is more talented than Hatton for sure, and will eventually prove to be better, but yea you can't really say he would be too much for prime Hatton when he hasn't done nearly as much yet

Really. I guess Ricky being blasted out in 60 seconds by Mike "No Joke" Stewart and Aldo Rios really counts against him.:dunno::dunno:

Hatton looked great against Paulie for sure, but Malignaggi was pulled out, not stopped. There isn't much in it, they both beat him up, but Khan done it slightly more impressively.

C'mon dude, anyone can lose if they're caught cold. I rate Wlad highly despite losing to the likes of Puritty in his career. Anyone can have a bad night.

Hatton did it in 2009. Paulie then had two more wars with Diaz. Lets face it, Paulie has not been improving.

Prescott has not had a significant win, bar Khan, in his career.

That's irrelevant. He caught Khan cold early and took him out. Could happen to anybody and it doesn't mean anything if he never beats another name fighter, was just his night.

    No.

Hatton circa 2004 would have folded Khan like a fucking deckchair.

The current Khan? I personally don't think so, but I can't really say anything until Khan proves it against the top dogs. So right now yea I don't really have a problem with anyone saying prime Hatton beats Khan, because he is proven at 140 against the likes of Tszyu.

I still say Amir is more talented though.

Let's have this conversation again in a few years when Khan has reached his full potential and proven himself :cheer:

Could the Khan - Maidana fight be the Hatton - Tszyu fight in where Khan has one of those nights where he shows us what he is worth with a stunning win?

That is a shaky hypothesis, taken even as it is, in isolation. It must be mated with similar glass-jawed outings vs much smaller, weaker opponents like Limond,Gomez etc. Truth be told Khan is not even in the Wlad Klitschko league-of-chins. Wlad has been in with Bangers like Sam Peter, taken his lumps and won. And I agree with Feebles....people have forgotten, perhaps thanks to the ignorance of people like Freddie Roach, of just how good prime Hatton was. Right now, here and now, Collazo probably stops Khan.

It's a dangerous fight because of Maidanas power but I'm not really sold on Marcos. The fight against Bradley/Alexander will be Amir's Tszyu equivalent (although not on the same level as Kostya)

If Khan gets nailed cleanly, he will lose. Is it not amazing how quickly people are prepared to forget about how BADLY this guy responds to being nailed?

How much "full potential" is required to not get floored by Willie Limond?

I can understand people harking back to those fights against Limond and Gomez, however if Khan comes through Maidana unscathed will people STILL be going back to that? Are fighters not allowed to improve?

It is physiologically impossible for him to improve. He does not respond well to being hit, and that is irreversible. He therefore needs to avoid being hit with one single powershot for the rest of his career. This is a big problem.

    Nope.

Couldn't you have said the same about Manny when he was sparked out by Torrecampo? Or nearly knocked out by a jab from Hussein?

It is a laughable statement by Mr Shake right now, it won't be in a few years though
