AKA fights where both dudes looked so similar you kept having to differentiate them by their shorts. I can only think of two of the top of my head: Bradley-Cherry. Cloud-Herrera But I bet there are others.:dunno:
Most of us have been talking about this shit for 10 years.....I fear most of the interesting stuff has been covered. But to answer your question yes, clearly yes. Even IM not interested in this question.:atu:
James Toney & Iran Barkley wore the same color trunks. People in the cheaper seats must've been looking at the big screen throughout that fight.
never saw the fight but I would assume Ken Buchanan/Jim Watt must have been a difficult fight on the TVs of the day... better turn that brightness knob down a touch
The only fight where I can see this being useful is if Joe Frazier fought King Kong for the Heavyweight championship
There was a surprisingly bitter stand-off between Ali & Patterson in the run-in to their 1972 rematch. Both fighters refused to don anything other than white & black-trim trunks, forcing the Commission, who initially ruled one must change, into permitting both to wear identical shorts-wear, which was not common at the time. It was said to be a point of non-negotiation for both parties, but especially Patterson.
Its odd, that was a fine challenge by Patterson in that fight Ali always said Floyd was the most skilled boxer he fought
