Not Sure WHO Would Beat him, Specifically, but Calzaghe Certainly WOULD NOT Come Out of that Tourney w/his "0" Intact...

Ward would have the best chance but I think Calzaghe wins it

Ward and Dirrell have the speed and skills to give him all he wants. Would have been interesting.

    He'd lose?... to who?..

It's funny Reed says that, because in my opinion Ward would be the only one to give him a good fight,.. yet Reed's picking Allan Green to win,..? :crafty: .. Calzaghe was set to cherry pick Green, but some Irish scrub nearly stopped him, so they looked elsewhere.

I'd pick him to win each fight....i'd give Ward the strongest shot, but i'm still not all that sure how good Ward actually is....the Kessler fight may prove to be a red-herring.

Didier Dirrell could give him problems, with his speed and efforts to get him DQ'd....'Nard tried a bit of that and it didn't work.

I think Ward would be the only one who could beat him. I'd favor Ward but just slightly.

Calzaghe had one ugly ass but very effective style of boxing. I was never a fan and wanted to see him KTFO. But nobody ever came close. Anyway, he'd probably wipe anybody out in this tourny even today.

    True.
I guess age may be a factor, and he did trade on his reflexes.
I'll just say that unless he deteriorated from the last version of Joe that I saw he should beat all of them.
So yeah, based on what I know of Calzaghe (rather than what I may imagine his hypothetical deterioration to be), I would expect him to beat everyone.

As Pascal says, at this best, Calzaghe beat all of the Super Six.

He already beat Kessler handily, he's a style mismatch for Froch, he would have comprehensively outworked Abraham, battered Green and was he faster and more effective than Dirrell. Ward would have been an interesting fight but Calzaghe would have started a strong favourite.

That said, he is, what 39 now? At this stage of his career I'd still pick him to beat Froch, Abraham, Kesller and Green but he might lose to Dirrell and Ward due to his own decline.

I think Calzaghe did the right thing in retiring when he did- he was clearly starting to slip a little and retirement is a far more dignified decision than the kind of affair Jones Jr and Hopkins subjected the world to a few weeks ago. Besides, he would have been too old by the time the Super Six reaches it's conclusion.

The pace he sets with his tactics and activity is faster than Dirrell,.. but if we're talking about flashes of raw speed,...Ward, and especially Dirrell have got him there Feebs,..

Direll has faster single shot speed but that kind of potshotting wouldn't have worked against Joe. I was referring rather to speed as supported by workrate and punchrate, not running around, falling to the floor once a round and throwing the odd punch.

I definitely see Ward beating him...probably Dirrell as well. It's tougher to say about Abraham.

Abraham has the power and timing to offset Joe's slaps. It's a question of how much Abraham covers up. Joe could out hustle him but I clearly see Arthur hurting him badly everytime he hits him.

Smart money says Calzaghe by decision "however" I can't forget Jones and Hopkins dropping and hurting him. If he takes a flush shot from Abraham he goes to sleep.

Ward and Dirrell are simply too young and slick for him.

Joe would loze brutally, ya know, because, ya know, Maxboxing, ya know...Dirrell's house was knocked down before Super 6 started, ya know? I mean, Who the froch is froch? Ya know...3 American judges and an American ref would be too much for him, ya know?

Yeah,.. that kinda snake-strike speed is something Calzaghe never really possessed,.. like Hopkins for example.. he'd have slower hands in a flurry than Joe... but occassionally.. Hopkins could strike with a single shot that you wouldn't think he was capable of,.. another one that comes to mind is Wlad,.. you don't see it every fight,.. but occasionally he'll strike with something difficult for the eye to see,.. like the lead left hook against Austin,..or the lightning bolt he caught Chambers with in the second round.

Ya knowz, you cannot mention Wlad in the same sentence as Hopkins, because, I mean...Bernard went to jail and Wlad is a pussy.

Daz da style,.. I agree the double standards suggests a...'slight sting'... if Joe get's dropped.. it's amplified and repeated over and over,.. if one of Calzaghe's former opponents gets beaten,.. repeat the dose,..

Never applies to Hopkins though,.. where was all the legacy leering after Martinez beat Pavlik up?.. Where was it when Dawson beat Hopkins best career win, twice?... Why do we make a note of Calzaghe being dropped in mythical matchups but,... we dont tend to do the same thing..in this instance for Ward and Dirrell?..

I think Hopkins deserves some credit for beating Pavlik. But Calzaghe deserves some credit for beating Hopkins. Unfortunately, ya know, its best not to mention Smelly Kelly. If the MaxFactorFaggots want to pump the Non-Caucasian aspect, and want to do it via Kelly Pavlik, they now have an outlet that doesn't feature Slapper Joe, in the form of Martinez, who is from Bolivia.

Martinez would be better off from Mexico. If you want a likely drop,..have you tried 'Thesweetscience' ?... from what I can detect that's atleast 2 gears up if your into this kind of stuff.

James DeGale will beat anyone in that tournament in the next few years.

    You heard it here first.
