The type that fights anybody and everybody. Doesn't bitch and whine. Doesn't talk shit. ETC. Fighters it would be hard to dislike unless you have some agenda. Who are they?
I was always very conflicted about Diego Corrales. I wanted to hate him because of his wife-beating past, but the guy was just too damn likable. Fighting wise, and in interviews. Damn Chico, why'd you have to beat your wife? :nono: It's ok, I forgive you. ray:
Miguel Cotto Mikkel Kessler Thomas Adamek ...until recently, Tim Bradley, but the Abregu fight is pointless and there are better matchups at 140
Paul Williams... Even when he TRIES to Talk Shit, he has that "Aw Shucks", Country Boy Way about him...Just a Very LIKEABLE Dude All Around, who will LITERALLY Fight Anybody... Manny Pac... PRE-PED Talk, there was NATHAN to Dislike about Pac... REED:mj:
1 Fight REMOVES Bradley from the "Likeable" List???....Dude Fought Holt, Campbell & Peterson in Succession... REED:mj:
Ha, nah he's still likeable but it seems his people are not keen on a devon alexander fight, and while a relatively easier fight at 140 would be acceptable, a possibly difficult fight against a welterweight doesn't make sense - it sounds like HBO trying to build a star at the expense of clarity in the juinior welterweight division
:crafty: Sounds familiar,... country! country!,.. ... Paul Williams slides beautifully into the slot,.. Country, will fight anybody, and he produces alot of Uncle Tom's who are stuck to Fraud's plank. I'm in!
His cheating tactics added to the fact that he beat guys that were obviously smaller made him not likable in my book. This might be an agenda, but it an be argued that hating any fighter includes an agenda.
Disagree on Brewster. This guy's one arrogant motherf*cker. I remember his interviews on Showtime. Dude about the Golota fight is like "He tried to trade with me....Big No No!" :: Like man, what the f*ck do you think you are??? Big No No??? Then the dipsh*t proceeded to get his ass kicked by Liakhovic and soon after, Wlad. And now the assh*le is basically disappeared.
In fairness, there was no one-sided ass kicking in Brewster-Liakhovich, it was one of the most enjoyable and competitive HW fights of the last 10 yrs
REED's Conflicted about Chico Too...Well Said...By MOST Accounts, he was a DIFFERENT Guy when he Drank... REED:hammert:
Michael Katsidis is the most likeable fighter today. It is almost impossible to cheer against the guy. MTF
Some people should NEVER touch alcohol. I remember reading the same about Tony Ayala...all the trouble he got into was after having a few.
Sergio Martinez- His skills and style aere amazing for someone who started boxing in his twenties, seems like a positive and respectful guy (some ring showboating aside) and has a million dollar smile. His evil twin brother I guess would be Nate Campbell- also amazingly skilled for someone who started out so late, but is a whiner and shit talker and comes off as kind of unlikeable.
I don't dislike him, but he doesn't fit the criteria of what the thread asks. he doesn't train hard enough, and the fact that people don't like how fat he is makes people hate him...so therefore he doesn't belong here. He does belong in favorite current fighters though. I saw him in corona at Chronic Taco when the UFC fights were on...He came in just wanted to drink and eat people kept on coming up to him, he was extremely nice talked about his fights took pictures , he made time to talk to me later on so we could have a chat about what happened...bad thing with him is everyone buys him drinks and shots...practically had to drag him outta the place.
