Yeah but traven is the only guy with any legit bJJ experience that he fought. Getting brock in a submission doesnt mean you have good BJJ.
Who are you not to? If you got eyes, someone who does BJJ occassionaly and follow the sport of MMA regulary, it gives me the right to say he blows.
Honestly, in my opinion, Mir isn't as bad as you make him sound. The only guy I've ever seen control him on the ground in MMA is Lesnar. There's no crime in that. He may not be the best in the world, but I think he is also along way from 'blowing'. I've got eyes also and I've seen him pull off some pretty sick submissions. And I know you threw out that none of his subs except for one have been against guys with solid BJJ. That maybe true, but name another BJJ blackbelt that other top guys like Nog or Werdum have submitted. There maybe one or two, but it typically doesn't happen. They usually negate each other. You can dismiss the win over Lesnar because Lesnar was green or whatever, but it was still an example of a solid BJJ practicioner, who was getting crushed, taking advantage of a mistake. For my money, from a strictly bone crunching perspective, I kind of like Mir's submission wins over Traven, Silva, Hardonk and Lesnar. Hell, even the punch-aided choke against Kongo was quick, decisive, and you knew the fight was over the second Mir locked it in.
overeem doesnt have the speed to catch fedor. Striking wise he's still relatively slow. I doubt he even has the striking advantage.

For sure. Overeem didn't even do anything to Rogers standing. The only reason he beat him was because he threw him down and got on top of him. Overeems striking is overrated because he has Bern beating old men and no hopers in K1 lately.
He pounded out Rogers in the first round to retain his Strikeforce title. Fedor is fighting Werdum coming and it sounds like Overeem after that.
