Am I the only one who DON'T want to see Marquez - Vazquez again?

I think they've taken too much punishment at the hands of each other, I don't wanna see any of them getting hurt. They should fight softies and retire, but for the sake of their economic security, let them fight. I hope they make some decent cash this time.

Sometimes, IMO as enjoyable as a match-up can be, you've seen enough to answer any questions you had about it...at the beginning of the the quadrilogy, it meant something divisionally/p4p or whatever; now it doesnt have the same significance at all, it basically just an opportunity for them to get the largest cheque available to them, which is fine but the trilogy was enough for me thanks

It seems that it is ok to celebrate the collision of shot, weary and injury prone has-beens as long as they are Latin.

I don't think another fight is necessary. Like you mentioned they took some serious punishment already. They should consider retirement after this fight.

It is easy to say that, Hex, but it is not our finances invested in a fourth bout. Perfect world, it was settled last time out on a high which couldn't possibly be reproduced --- & I say that with you-know-who as my man. Simply, they need the money, if not now, then down the line.

Good luck to both warriors, & God willing, Marquez will even the scores. I still say he got a raw deal with the ref in their second fight.

Certainly, though we cannot be sure until it's over. I really think a 3-1 tilt to Vazquez would skew how tremendously tight their rivalry has been. Marquez should win this, & I think he will, too.

    Marquez UD12 Vazquez.

As a boxing fan, of course I want to see them fight again and there's no way I would miss it.

Of course I wouldn't begrudge them if they never wanted to share the same ring again for the sake of their health, but unfortunately they know the path to the biggest payday still leads through each other.

It's just too bad, the biggest payday for them is still a pittance compared to what some of the more uninspiring boxers in the sport make.

Agreed. No way I will miss this fight, but I personally wouldn't have matched them again. While there has been basically nothing to separate them in 3 fights, there is no need for a 4th one just for their own sake.

However, is this fight the biggest payday they both can make? In which case let them do it one more time, and hopefully they will both be ok to ride off into the sunset afterwards

I don't think anybody would blame them if they just went in there and stared at each other for 12 rounds like Jones/Tarver III.

For some reason I don't think that's going to happen. :fightme:

why no interest? is it because you're worried about their health?

I say good for them. Better than seeing either thrown in with a young, hungry fighter for way less cash.

Let them fight. They've earned the pay cheque.

It seems that it is ok to celebrate the collision of shot, weary and injury prone has-beens as long as their previous 3 encounter against each other were classics...

exactly, I woudln't have a problem with a fourth fight if they each would have defeated a stud fighter in the meanwhile ( Cabbalero, JuanMa or Gamboa for example ). Now, it's a showcase of why the Ring champion policy doesn't work

I just hope that both are being paid well and plan to retire afterward. Similar to Corrales/Castillo. They cut each other's career short.

I think both guys were nearing the end anyways - at least the end of their primes. Vazquez and Marquez have been fighting a while.

Last time, Vazquez got $750k while Marquez got $425k. They're supposed to get more this time. Good money for the divisions they fight in, but still, a hell of a price they paid for those purses.

And both men have done just what since then?

And one of these so-called classics involved SOMEBODY QUITTING ON A STOOl.

    Some classic.

Vasquez's eye is already bad and Marquez didn't look too good in his last fight. I really have no idea how much they have left.

I am questioning the heart of the quitting piece of shit who quit on his stool with a stuffy nose.

Oh wait, he was "Latin"...I guess that's OK then.

He never quit, and I never said he quit.
