Hatton vs Tszyu, seconds into round 10, Jim Watt "Rickys gonna win this one, Ian".

It had been pretty close after 9 rounds, Watt made that call and 6 minutes later Hatton had won.

    Any others?

What's the dude's name who does Showtime analysis? He almost always interprets the action correctly, in my opinion.

Manny Steward is never wrong. By the same token, he's never correct. He's strictly non-commital in everything he says.

After the great two-way actio of the 9th round of Trinidad-Vargas, Foreman said "it's getting rough for Vargas". Shortly after that, he said "if he trades left hooks with Trinidad, he's outta there"

I remember one time he said "I was reading his mind when he did this".

One time he was really on-point though was Margarito-Cotto. Lampley was in his Cotto-slurping mode but Manny throughout the fight was pointing out the pressure that Margarito was putting on him, how he was walking him down, getting his shots in. Naturally, when Margarito hurt Cotto in the 7th, Manny said "this is exactly the way I figured the fight was going to go".

Nah, not good enough, sorry. If the commentator had said, before the fight, that Golota was going down and out from left hooks in 3 minutes then, yes, thats a good call. Sorry to piss on that one, kid. :dunno:

The best was Rahman's 2nd loss to Maskaev. Rahman is dead tired, slumped in the corner, taking shots, and Lennox Lewis says "I'm telling you, he's going to get knocked out!"

Thanks for the wonderful insight Lennox.

One time during a 12 round fight as soon as the 12th round came to a close I recall Manny saying. I knew it wasn't gonna go 13

Yeah but George could have figured that out from round 1.

In the Hatton-Tszyu fight, there was nothing to really suggest, after only seconds of the 10th, that this one was on the verge of a swing in either mans favour. Then Tszyu backed up, just looked slightly weary, and Watt put all the money on Hatton- despite the fact that Hatton was himself being tagged all night by the counter rights of Tszyu. It was a great call, over the next 6 minutes, Tszyu barely enjoyed even a moment of success- despite the fact that he had enjoyed great success all night up to that.

That's exactly the opposite of what I am looking for.. Then Lewis says, as the ref waves it off...."It's Over"

It's hard to believe Lewis plays chess. Judging from his analysis, he's a complete idiot.

:nono: Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh!,..Erratic please,.. it wasn't a bad prediction, and it wasn't said in that time frame you described either, the fighters were seperated, Lewis observed that Rahman was still rocky on his feet and declared, I'm telling you Rahman's going to be knocked out in this fight,.. given it was the last round, the time was running out, and it was said BEFORE Maskaev started to unload, it was pretty good, that's not to say Lewis was a good commentator,.. but the prediction was decent.

as in.. when Freddie says during Holy-Mike 1

"first signs of wearness on Evander Holyfield... REAL SIGNS"

Right as he says "REAL SIGNS"

Holy Catches Mike and hurts him badly

I would not have thought so,.. ever since the tragic and untimely death of Fightbeat's first prodigeous source-shark Mitchell-Kane,.. you've well slotted in and provided the neccessary pieces regarding information and quotes of the past in articles with pin-point accuracy,.. therefore the ":nono: Uh uh uh uh uh!" implied rather that of the act to prod the belly of an unfavourable fighter turned commentator through sneaky, though endearing means.. :crafty:
