there is no shame losing to Santos

No, I agree, especially a fresher Santos.

The thing is though, that he lost to Santos, and he lost to Mosley, and the Mosley loss raised a huge question over his achievements at 147.

If he was an elite fighter moving up from 147 to 154, then maybe.

As it is, he is an oft-beaten cheater with a recent history of inactivity.

Let's call this what it is: Brick-Pack Mexican BS.

who should rank ahead of him???

  4. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

Anybody who didn't lose their last fight at a lower weight. And anyone who doesn't have a serious ? hanging over their "accomplishments" at that lower weight.

And yes, that includes that other Mexican Brick Pack Garbage-Meister, JC Junior.

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

so you have named 1 guy you'd rank ahead of margarito. chavez jr.

  6. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

I would put Vanes Martirosyan ahead of him too.

Dzindzuruk..........Stinks.....of course, if Williams can make 154, he would rank ahead of him too.

  7. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

dzinziruk is WBO champ, spinks will win the IBF title in less than one month. so obviously they wont be ranked in the WBC.

williams certainly deserves to rank ahead of margarito. so far youve named one guy worthy of being ranked ahead of him in the wbc rankings

    ElTerriblee "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Spinks is the IBF champion. He won the belt in the rematch with Latimore. Williams and Angulo are the WBO interim champions. So there really is nobody to be ranked, since every good fighter has a belt or is locked up.

I still think Santos deserves to be ranked ahead of Margarito

Oh I see....so you want me to start from #21 and work my way down...why didn't you say so....

  14. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

santos? the guy who lost to the rabbi? can he even make 154 anymore?

  15. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

    there you go.

  16. Panchyprsss

    Panchyprsss Clogg's LORD PROTECTOR

No matter what Sulaiman will crown JCC Jr a champ just 'to make history: father & son champs in the WBC and FROM MEXICO CABRONES!!!!" Duddy is doomed. Even if he kayos Jr, he will still lose and Jr will get the belt unconcious on the canvas. Sulaiman has every possible scenario covered to crown Jr "son of the legend". Jr first mandatory title fight will be against a mexican cab driver with 27 defeats, zero wins. After that he will retire undefeated.

    VIVA MEXICO, PUTOS!!!

Just curious but has chavez beaten anyone better than the guy margarito fought last?

Exactly, its so transparent and ridiculous

Its either an act, or the guy is brain dead

    Nope

  20. Hitman

    Hitman Undisputed Champion

    He's better than Margarito

Wasn't his last fight at 154? And he was out of shape, i think he can still make the weight... if DK doesn't put him on the sidelines for years at a time

    Sticks and stones, bitch.

So far we have about zero reasons why Margarito being rated highly is a mistake.

As far as Chavez Jr goes, no one is saying they think he is rated correctly, but if you look back at all #1 rated challengers from all 4 sanctioning bodies' histories, you will find that he is nowhere near the top of an unworthy list. He is getting picked on primarily because of his name.

Would anyone really be surprised if he beat a top 10 fighter? I doubt it. He has talent and a decent punch. And a great record. Many, many #1 guys haven't.

  22. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

I already gave one outstanding reason: name one situation where a guy got the shit beat out of him in his last fight in a lower division, had serious aspersions cast over his achievements in that lower division, moved up, and was rated #2 immediately?

  23. mikE

    mikE "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Please try to be more convoluted and nonsensical.

    Shane Mosley, post-Forrest.

Good point mikE. These sanctioning bodies consistently rank shitty fighters at the top. Chavez Jr is bad, but it has been a lot worse.

  25. Irish

    Irish Yuge, Beautiful

    1. That was a points decision, not a brutal bashing KO, though Mosley clearly came off 2nd best.

    2. Mosley had beaten De La Hoya. Margarito had beaten Cotto, when Cotto, basically, quit. Cotto vs Oscar? Easy pick.

    Anyways, nice effort.

Margarito should not even be in the sport anymore. He should have done jail time for attempted assault.

Ah yes, the days of Joe Hipp and Bruce Seldom. Those were the days. Not a Pale Rider in sight. Do you yearn for those days, Brown Stuff?
