He, he SEEMED buzzed...but that might just be my eyes. I think Peter was slowing down, just a BIT.:: Don't you just love how Wally The Wally primes his cock as soon as Manfredo gets inside and they are about to whack off in blissful unison when BANG Biko lands a left hook on Manfredo and then all of sudden you can just hear the air rushing out of that particular balloon, I mean it deflated faster than Wall Street on 9/11. "Oh and suddenly now Peter can....Oh....Oh no...Oh dear. Please don't hurt him, Oh man. Oh God...aaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhh"
:: True. Deflation indeed, deflation of the hindenburg comes to mind listening to that,.. "Ohhhh the humanity, he seems out of it!"
wtf did Abraham have to do with there being extra time to evaluate his injury? As I remember, that was an American ref that gave him the extra time, too, wasn't it? To be clear, are you saying he lost the fight because he got extra time or because he didn't deserve it on the cards? I stick up for sanctioning bodies because fans are ignorant when it comes to their role in the sport. Often knowingly ignorant. Sanctioning bodies are like Floyd in that way. The Ring is like Pacquiao. MMA is gravitating toward the boxing model. I (and I'm sure relatively few others) predicted this several years ago when everyone was getting all hard about the UFC model. Boxing's model, despite all of its flaws, is superior because (among many other things) it is fairer to the fighters. Just because the majority don't see it or don't acknowledge it doesn't mean it isn't true. And as a huge fan of boxing, I care about the fighters more than I care about the fans or anyone else involved in the sport. That doesn't mean I always end up on the side that favors the boxers over whatever, but at least it is where the consideration begins. I believe most fans are like you and begin consideration of an issue with what will benefit them the most.
WATCH the Fight...It was COMPETITIVE til the Last Couple Rounds AND Green DROPPED Miranda...1st Guy to EVER Do So, if REED's Not Mistaken... Miranda CLEARLY Won & NEARLY STOPPED Green Late, but U're EXAGGERATING by Calling it a "Schooling"...Besides All that, they Fought MORE than 3 YEARS Ago... REED:mj:
REED has NO Beef w/Andre Ward & REED ISN'T Proclaiming Allan Green as a Great Fighter or Anything of the Sort...REED just Feels that Green Matches Up WELL w/Andre Ward... Ward ISN'T a Big Puncher & he has a SUSPECT Chin...For All of his Apparent Skills & Talents, Ward ISN'T All that Hard to HIT & Green is 1 of the 10 BEST Punchers in the Sport, in REED's Opinion.... REED:hammert:
I don't understand how u can bring the Kost and whoever else it was Knockdowns into the argument, by that logic Kessler should have obliterated him. And the loss to miranda is still bad becuz he got outboxed by him and he wasn't the one who turned him into the punching bag. I mean someone has to be the first guy to do it and it wasn't Ward. I mean that's good timing more than anything else. Let's FAST lose to him before everybody else bashes him up so we can say we boxed a prime Miranda... ::
Kessler has ALWAYS Been OVERRATED in REED's Opinion...Fuuuuuurthermore, the NEXT Time Miranda "OutBoxes" ANYBODY will B the FIRST Time... Sure, he CLEARLY BEAT Allan Green, but "OutBoxed"???... REED:notallthere:
Eez not really overrated anymore, he sure was before the tournament kicked off though and Reed was right to have slathered and choked on the chain, but now Reed in cooperation with Andre Ward have settled the score. If he still sux however,... since beating your much beloved and much praised Carl Froch,... sheer and thorough UNDERRATION it is..
Carl Froch was NEVER "Beloved" or "Praised" by REED...REED Merely Picked him to Beat Kessler, No MORE, No LESS...BOTH Kessler AND Froch Are/Were BETTER than Jermain Taylor Though.... REED:hammert:
:crafty: Why I say "praised" in particular is because Reed... "Liked what he saw" in the past with Carl Froch,..and I know how it feels when a fighter fails a vicarious hate mission,.. Hopkins has not lost enough for my satisfaction afterall,.. but the question remains.. at what point did Reed change his mind about Carl?.. was it pre-Kessler... or post?.. :crafty:
Froch has the beating of any fighter from 160-175. It's a real pity he will most likely be out of the tournament soon. Pugilistically, it makes more sense for the series to have Froch in it than Abraham. However, Froch is making all the wrong noises and Abraham is making all the right ones. As for Green, I always thought he sounded like a College man. He seems to be far smarter than the average fighter. And you know what, every dog has its day. He might just be in the right place at the right time.
REED Thinks Froch LOST to Andre Dirrell...Many Question the MANNER in Which Dirrell Fought (But Even THAT Aspect of the Fight has Been OVERBLOWN), but if U Know How to SCORE a Boxing Match, he BEAT Carl Froch that Night... When REED Said he "Liked what he Saw" in Froch, that was an ANSWER to a Direct Question about REED's FIRST IMPRESSIONS of the Man...REED Spoke of the SWAGGER Froch Fought w/, the Even Handed Power he Seemed to Possess & Said he "Liked what he Saw" in Froch... But It's NOT as if REED Started a Bandwagon or Anything... REED:hammert:
I thought that on a 10-point must system, Dirrell won the fight. Unfortunately, there are many factors that influence a 10 point must system, and whatever Dirrell did to win the fight, he seemed, in the eyes of 3 judges, to have also done enough to also lose it.
REED...Wards style is designed to not let punchers get set. He boobs and weaves and is a master at setting distance. Greens biggest problem is landing shots when he has to think instead of just reacting. Ward will keep him off balance all night with his jab and keep him guessing. When Green gets close he will stuff him. Ward will win big because Green will be forced to think and take chances. There's a reason Ward has not lost a fight since he was 15 years old. He isn't the hardest puncher or the most physically gifted but he knows how to win. After this fight Green will be psychologically damaged for a good bit.
agREED... Dirrell was a "Victim" of Boxing's SUBJECTIVITY...His STYLE was a Turn Off, so Even Though he was Quite Clearly More EFFECTIVE than Froch, he was PENALIZED for the Manner in Which he Operated... NOWHERE in the Rule Book Does it State that a Fighter has to B "Fan-Friendly", NOR Does it State that a Fighter MUST ENGAGE @ All Costs...Nonetheless, Fans & Judges DETRACT from Certain Guys Based on this... REED:mj:
Ward STILL Gets Hit Though, Barristan...& he DOESN'T Really Put "Hurt" on Guys...Ward was MORE Pocket Oriented vs. Miranda AND Kessler, than REED Thought he'd B... Sure, he Could "STINK" Out Green for a 12 Round UD, but Ward Looks to IMPRESS in Front of his Home Peeps...@ SOME Point, he's Gonna Get CLIPPED & Hurt...& Allan Green is a MURDEROUS Finisher... U Made Some GREAT Points, Though... REED:hammert:
I think Reed's first piece of evident enthusiasm for Froch, was when he fought a Polish journeyman, it was before Pascal, never came across a negative word about Froch from Reed, until now, atleast to the point where I would think Reed would have to give Kessler some credit, but, that thread has already been done, and Reed never will. With Kessler against Froch,.. I got to wonder how effective Kessler could have been, had he have been content with his superior speed, to land a pot shot.. then spend the remainder of the round draining the clock out through illegal means by refusal to engage, excessive holding, and excessive diving masqueraded as 'slipping' ,.. I've been an advocate as you know about the rules as they're defined on paper, to be enforced for once, and give Dirrell zero credit for trying to take advantage of the same thing so many bitch-fighters are guilty of,.. that includes others like Wlad Klitschko, Bernard Hopkins and alot of Fraud's defensive apparatus, if we took away thier right to illegally operate,..then how good would they really be?.. What back-up plans do they have if by some miracle they're warned with the prospect of disqualification for thier multiple and chronic offenses?.. In the case of Dirrell, the judges could have well interperated his tactics as somebody who's clearly scared, distressed or even hurt, if you're hurting, you hold, if you're shaken, you run,.. As far as I can see, Dirrell was robbed from robbing, and Kessler didn't need to bend the rules or avoid the pressure and action in order to win his fight. :nono: so credit due..
Overrated or not he's better than Kost or Boone and by your logic then should have knocked him out. IF KOST AND BOONE CAN DO IT!!! Outboxed, when winning on points dispite bing knocked down, sure - didn't say he pulled a pernell on Green. :notallthere:
1. REED was Asked DIRECTLY What his Thoughts were of Froch, Based on what he Saw vs. the Aforementioned "Polish Journeyman"...REED Gave Froch a POSITIVE Review... 2. N Terms of "Negativity", ALL REED Said is that he Thought Dirrell WON their Fight, Despite the Manner in Which he Fought... 3. @ NO Point has REED EVER Been Terribly HIGH on Froch OR Terribly LOW on him... U're Posting as if REED Planted Froch Flags in his Front Yard, Then Pulled them OUT of the Ground Because Kessler Beat him... NOT!!!.... REED:hammert:
Kessler has ALWAYS had Trouble w/SPEED Guys, which Ward CERTAINLY Is...It's NOT as if REED Blindly Picked Ward w/NO Stylistic Justification... U Know Good & Well what "OutBoxed" Means & Miranda Most Certainly DID NOT Do that Against Allan Green....OutFOUGHT Him???...Dished Out MORE HURT???...Sure... But Saying Miranda "OutBoxed" Allan Green is @ BEST an EXAGGERATION...@ Worst, it's an Indicator that U DIDN'T Even SEE the Fight Itself... REED:mj:
Outpointed if you like that better. :crying: The fighting styles thing is something i can understand better than this "IF this bum could knock him down" argument.
Rocky Marciano outpointed Ezzard Charles, but there is no way we could say he "out-boxed" Ezzard Charles.
:crafty: Somewhat yes,.. I am,.. Reed has been resentful of him,..but wether it was due to Kessler's mass overration pre-tournament,..or earlier,.. I can't say,.. if anything, Reed did praise Calzaghe for an excellent performance against Kessler,..implying some credit one would have to think, therefore, I am very loosely thinking it was after Calzaghe that Reed started to really kick it into gear. I cant blame Reed for the hate as a result of a collectively undeserved hype and overration,..but Reed could be swinging on the pendulum too far the other way in light of his loss to Ward, then his victory over Froch,.. that should have been a neutralising formula.
