REED Sometimes Thinks that Rampage Tries Tooooo HARD to B the "Hood Brother" Too, but U KNOW how it is, Mass...The Minute Rampage Started Using $5 Words, he'd B Criticized for "Forgetting Where he Came From"...It's a Double Edged Sword in the Black Community... Go to ANY Hood in the South & U'll Hear a THOUSAND Guys that Sound & Talk JUST LIKE Rampage Does...He's Being TRUE to WHO he is & WHERE he Came From...& While Rampage ISN'T "Well Spoken", he's 1 of the More EFFECTIVE Guys @ Getting his Point Across... Rampage is an Excellent COMMUNICATOR & INTERESTING To Listen To, even if his Wording, Pronounciation & Vocab AREN'T On Par w/More Well Versed Speakers... REED Gets where Rashad is Coming From, but it's Also Kinda SORRY for a College Educated Brother to "Go There" w/a Guy that DIDN'T Have the Same Luxury...Rashad DOESN'T Need to Apologize for HOW he Grew Up, but there's No Need to Throw Shit in Rampage's Face, Either... Rashad is INSINUATING that Rampage "Shucks & Jives" for WHITE People, whereas REED just Thinks Rampage is Being WHO he Is...The Way he Talks On Camera is the SAME Way he'd Talk in Private, if NATHAN but Brothers were Around... REED:hammert:
Rashad AND Rampage Should've EMBRACED it...This is the 1st HIGH PROFILE UFC Fight Consisting of Brother's, that REED Can Think Of...That SHOULDN'T B Downplayed... The UFC Primetime Shows Played More "Urban" Music than they Customarily Do, but REED Could Tell they HELD BACK on Going as Faaaaaaaaaar as they Probably Wanted to...Personally, REED WOULDN'T have had a Problem w/it & he Doubts that Rashad or Rampage Would've Either... Fact is, they're BOTH BROTHERS...No Sense in IGNORING it... REED:kidcool:
I love it. Unfortunately there are those that are far too sensitive to view it for the hilarious and creative slogan that it is. Something tells me Dana white would get barbecued if he tried that. Even though it's a ROFL quote from Rampage, White would catch the fall out. Damn it Whiskey. Now I am bummed they didn't call it that.
The Thing is, Rampage SAID it 1st... Dana Could've EASILY SOLD Rampage & Rashad on the "Groundbreaking", "Pioneering" Aspect of this Matchup & From There, they'd have Been Front & Center EXTINGUISHING the Flames of Controversy... The BEST Way to Deal w/Race is to CONFRONT it, as Opposed to Acting as if it DOESN'T Exist...MMA & The UFC In Particular is Predominantly WHITE...So 2 BLACK Guys Fighting for the 1st Time in a UFC Main Event is SIGNIFICANT...The 2nd, 3rd, 4th & Other Times it Occurs Afterwards, WON'T B...THIS Event Should've Been Sold on THAT Premise... On a SMALL Scale, REED's Noticed a Few Brothers that Normally DON'T Watch MMA, Discussing THIS Fight...The ESPN Coverage Certainly Helped...But Dana Should've Went ALL OUT (Tastefully, Of Course) to Promote the "BLACKNESS" of the Event... Like REED Said, the "UFC-Primetime" Played More URBAN Music that it Ever Has, but REED Thinks UFC Should've Pushed the Envelope even MORE...& 1nce they Got Done w/this Promotion, that would Open the Door to B More CREATIVE w/Future Promotions... The Event will B Pretty Successful ANYWAYS, but they Could've Hyped it Sooooooooo Much MORE & Soooooooooo Many VARIOUS Ways... REED:hammert:
I dont see this. Machida, Ortiz, Rampage, Wandy, Penn, Silva, Rashad, Sadollah, Alvez, Gracie, Aldo, Almedia, Belfort, Rua, Nog, Lil Nog, Koschek, Dos Santos, Velasquez, Diaz, Gomi, Gonzaga, Alexander, Vera, Kimbo, Grove, Kongo, Daley, Jon Jones, Mark Munoz, Diego Sanchez, yvel, Thiago Silva, James Toney, Tavarez, Escudero
Let's Keep it REAL, Dog... UFC is Predominantly WHITE...Most of the Guys R TUF R Typically WHITE...The Live Audience Is Usually UPWARDS of 90% WHITE... & There's NATHAN Wrong w/ANY of that...But it's TRUE... This is PRECISELY What REED is Talking about; the RELUCTANCE to just DEAL w/Race...Instead of just ACCEPTING it as it IS, U're Bending Over Backwards to Prove that it ISN'T... Is the UFC's FULL Roster Available???...REED has NO Doubts that it's Mostly WHITE...& Given that Collegiate Wrestling is the EASIEST Sport to Transition to MMA from, that Makes Sense.... REED:mj:
I agree, but thats because people think they are predominately white. If they new better, the fan base would be bigger.
"May B"???...That's Like Saying the FanBase of BET "May B" Black...If Anybody has Access to the UFC"s FULL Roster, it'd B YOU...REED would B VERY Interested in Checking it Out... REED:hammert:
I just posted the biggest fighters on their roster. If you got rid of all of those people, the UFC would be dead. I dont need to bend over anything to prove it, i just did. I just posted 36 names you can bet your life that those arent even all of the non-whites. I only posted the big key players. If i were to post the whole roster, there would be close to about 60 minorities on that roster.
The ELITE Level of UFC is Integrated, but for Every Melvin Guillard, there's Probably 5-10 WHITE MMAists... REED:hammert:
Go on the UFC website. You can get their whole roster. Problem is, you would have to click on each name to see if they are white or not. Could take a while. But you know for a fact the people i posted arent white. And these are the people that are predominately on the television.
But How Many Guys R On the Roster???...150???...200???...If 60 R Minorities, that Means the VAST MAJORITY R WHITE... Like REED Said, The ELITE Level of UFC is Integrated, but there's 5-10 WHITE Guys in MMA for Every Melvin Guillard on the NON-Elite Level... REED:kidcool:
Overeem, Rogers, Lawal, Diaz, Melendez, Lashley Sefo, Silva, Werdum, Gracie, Mousasi, Randleman, Soccerjew, southworth, Manhoef, Santos, Shamrock, Jacare, Taylor, Villasenor, Santos, LE, amoussou, Bailey, Evangelista, Ishida, Noons, Cyborg. I mean its a complete misconception that MMA is perdominately white.
Reed go on their webiste. I just posted 36 people on the UFC roster. 64 including strikeforce. Its not even all of the minorities. I didnt post the unknowns. That proves alone that the UFC & Strikeforce is not Majority white. Go on the strikeforce website. Name me 64 white fighters off the top of your head.
REED just Did a Quick Count on the UFC Website's Roster...They have 5 Pages Worth of Fighters...4 Pages Contain 50 Each & Page 5 Contains 9....So that's 209 Fighters on the UFC Roster TOTAL... Again, U Posted 36...Not Sure HOW that "Proves" Your Point...But REED's about to Find 110 White Guys, which'll PROVE his Point... REED:mj:
I posted the fighters with the names you would know. I told you already twice that i could have posted more, but i only posted the guys that are on TV regularly.
This is not of competition its of cooperation. Im trying to educate you on this shit and you are fighting me. Saying UFC and strikeforce having a mostly white roster is ridiculous. Hell, go on the strikeforce website and white are the minority.
Do the WHITE Thing (List of UFC's WHITE Fighters)...In Alphabetical Order...If there's ANY Discrepancy's about a Particular Guy Being White, Let REED know...But he's Doing his Best to ONLY Pick Guys that CLEARLY Appear to B White... 1. I said name me people that are on TV regularly. There are a good portion of those guys i rarely hear about, so i KNOW that you have never heard of them. I asked you to name me people who are on TV regularly. The face of the company so to say. And you name names nobody ever heard of. With the exception of about 7?
Who's Fighting Who???...REED Said, "The UFC is Predominantly WHITE" & U're DISagreeing w/that...It Seems Pretty OBVIOUS to REED that it IS...So he'll Continue his "Research"... 28. Jesse Forbes 29. But if those guys arent on TV and arent the face of the company. How can you say the UFC is predominately white? Before checking what your checking, the people i listed was what you knew about the UFC. I asked you to name me 64 white fighters off the top of your head and you couldnt do that. You are picking guys that have never been on TV, still in development, never heard of from the general public. You have people on your list that havent fought in 3 years. ::
