Golota was clearly the better fighter and has all the tools to win pretty easily, and if he had fought Morrison in 96 instead of Bowe but with same mentality, he would have won. However Golota was able to fuck things up when anything was expected from him, and later in his career he also fucked things up when nobody even cared anymore. Most likely scenario is that Morrison attacks him quick, Golota panics and lets himself get knocked out early
I dont trust Golota vs any puncher. I think he freezes up soon as that murderous Morrison left hook lands. Morrison KO 4.
Morrison KOs the overrated Golata. Golata might the "better" fighter on paper, but when the fight starts and Morrison starts landing on him, Golata will start looking for an exit.

Golota is better and should win..and the Golota of the Bowe fights DOES win. But it's so hard to pick Golota in any mythical matchup against any halfway decent heavyweight because he's such a madman. I mean...Golota should have by all rights destroyed Michael Grant in 3 short rounds but the idiotic cunt let grant back into teh fight and then quit or whatever late. So I just can't pick Golota regardless of whether he's better than another fighter or not. He just always finds a way to lose a big fight.
Looking at what Golota dished out against a heavy-hitter like Bowe (who, in their second fight, did land back pretty savagely, & Golota stood upto it for a while), & the length of time for which he did it in both fights, I can imagine Golota winning. Why not? Morrison couldn't dream of absorbing anywhere close to what Bowe did in either meet. Before Golota essentially quit in those fights, he landed enough power shots, against a better fighter even at that stage than Morrison ever proved to be (not to mention Bowe's size element, relative to Morrison), to KO someone like Morrison a hundred times over.
Even though Morrison wasnt the fighter Bowe was, he was a bigger punncher then Bowe, and had very fast hands. Golota was out on his feet from a Sampson Pou'ah left hook, I have little confidence of his ability to handle Morrison's hook. Ray Mercer took some MURDEROUS early on slaught shots from Tommy, and if its Golota in there taking those same punches... the Pole woulda been unconsious.
True enough --- just have the feeling Golota has the better tools to do damage & get their first. Even at that stage, Bowe could really hit, too. Not a one-punch KO artist, but Golota took on some real nasty blows & survived.

He wouldnt be scared of Tommy at first, but once Morrison lands the hook Golota would get that "Oh fuck!" look on his face. I think you guys are underestimaing Morrison's power. I have ZERO faith in Golota vs a puncher.

Bowe HURT & DROPPED Golota VERY EARLY in their RE, yet Golota Got Up, Shook it Off & Resumed DOMINATING "Big Daddy's" Ass...Why???...Golota was CONFIDENT Going Into the Fight w/Bowe, just as he'd B Confident Going Into a Tommy Morrison Fight... Obviously, this DOESN'T Go the Distance, but REED Likes Morrison's CHIN to Wilt Before Golota's Mental TOUGHNESS Does... REED:hammert:
