Silva V Rua is looking ever more likely but personally I think GSP is the guy who needs to step up.

Who would you like to see fight and who do you think would come out on top.

The fight I want to see is Silva V GSP. IMO Anderson would also be the favourite against both guys..

Dana won't risk his cash cow against Silva. Silva vs Shogun is the best fight in MMA so it probably won't happen.

Even though they are 2 top pfp guys and a very popular fight, I am not sure I like the matchup. Even though he fights at 185, Silva is the much larger man at 6'3" and walking around at about 220. I would rather see him against Shogun who is about the same size.

No shit. There are no tune ups with UFC. If you're the champ and a guy is the top contender, it's on.

For GSP to beat Silva he would have to fight the most boring fight of his life. He'd basically just have to hold him down and that is if he's even capable of doing that to a guy as huge as Silva. GSP isn't the biggest WW either, I don't think it would suit him well to move up. He's too small for MW.

THE fight to be made is Shogun vs Silva. I would love for that fight to be made. I hope it happens. I think Silva probably will fight for the LHW title now that Machida is out of the picture. He'll probably fight Sonnen or Belfort then move up to fight the winner of Rashad vs Shogun.

Unless your name is Anderson Silva, then you don't have to fight your friends.

I don't have any interest in a GSP\Silva fight. I just don't think it would be competative. A guy who's fighting at 205 fighting a guy who has no problems making weight at 170?

Like others, I'd rather see Silva\Shogun.

Silva MURDERS GSP...GSP's Best Bet is to Let Silva VACATE 185, then Move Up...

I just don't know how effective GSP would be at 185. I'm sure he'd be excellent, but 170 just seems perfect for him. He's always in amazing shape. How many times have we seen him go 5 rounds and look like he could go another 5?

And I don't think the UFC is in any hurry to have GSP move up in weight. Having GSP as a dominant champion can only help as they try to expand into more of Canada, as well as the main stream. You're seeing GSP in commercials now, and that's more likely to happen if he stays unbeaten at 170 then if he loses at 185.

Yeah I know and Im a big Koscheck fan. I love to see him pull off the upset but its not likely. At 170 GSP is pretty much unbeatable.

He's pretty dominant for sure, there is really nobody at 170 I can see beating him any time soon.

But Here's the Million Dollar Question...

Is it BETTER to Stay in a Division where U're Soooooooooo DOMINANT, U're Now RECYCLING Opponents OR, Should U Look to Conquer NEW Heights, or Weights as the Case May B (Presuming Silva VACATES 185)???...

Does Anybody Wanna See GSP-Fitch II???...GSP-Alves II???...Koscheck's SHITTALK may Add Intrigue to his Upcoming RE w/GSP, but the Bout Itself Seems like a FORMALITY...

Right now, GSP is as popular of a fighter as there is in the UFC, especially among Canadian fans. And that popularity is only going to grow as expansion in Canada continues and as GSP crosses over to a mainstream star rather then just an MMA star. So his fights will make money even if he's fighting a mannequin.

Moving up to face stronger competition at 185 may serve GSP well on a personal level if he really wants to challenge himself, but I think, at least short term, it is better for the UFC if he remains a dominant champion at 170. The UFC will find new challengers for him, most likely starting with Jake Shields.

Yeah, after Kos, Shields is really the only fight I want to see GSP take.

Really, there have been a lot of mismatches especially recently. Dana said after Andersons last fight that Silva didn't deserve a fight with GSP. Aka i don't want my cash cow getting humiliated like that.

Im saying that Dana won't put him in there with Silva when there is nobody to fight at 170 yes. He wasn't protected in the past, he has beat all of the best fighters at 170 so now it is protection mode. Dana has a hard on for his canadian cash cow.

Dana can't force a guy to move up.

 GSP is that good he is now protected - the guy is so dominant at 170 he could probably take on two at a time. UFC can not force him to move up but like Silva and Penn I would like to see him challenge himself.

He can't force me to watch boring future GSP mismatches either.

Joe Silva makes the matches, not Dana. Do your homework before acting an authority on the sport which you know nothing about.

Besides that, GSP/Silva is a crap fight due to the size difference. There is much more for Silva at 205. It's not about being protected as NO one in the UFC has ever been protected. Once again I wouldn't expect you to know this.

GSP shouldn't be expected to move up and fight Anderson. The size difference is too great. I wish Silva would just move up to 205. If he fights Rua, that would be awesome. I hope he makes short work of Sonnen so a Rua fight can happen by the end of the year.

if silva takes care of biz vs. sonnen then i expect him to fight beflort next.

gsp, barring he doesn't lose to koschek, can wait for that british dude who just beat sanchez to win another fight or two.

rua has plenty of light heavies to fight starting w/ evans.

Luckily i have missed plenty of MMA recently although partyly due to Don King. I wish that I had missed more because 90% was trash.
