They have fighter's reach measurements why don't they start doing fighters power and speed measurement? I mean in this day and age it'd be very easy to just have a boxer punch some sensors and see what numbers come out. It would be very cool to see how power and speed compares before a fight.
There's no real way to measure it that would relate to boxing. I'm sure the Klitschkos have more strength behind their punches than a prime Mike Tyson, but those things don't measure someone's true KO ability.
I'm sure it would relate to boxing very well Arben. Although the stats might embarass some fighters. For example: Wlad Klitschko Punching Power - 1,320 PSI Chris Byrd Punching Power - 125 PSI ::
Actually you'd be wrong on that assessment of Byrd. I actually posted that stat in the Chris Byrd article I wrote for Fightbeat.
Interesting experiment but the sex factor refers to the fighters' legs/conditioning, not punching power. It's not your fault of course but good find of the info.:bears:
They tested different aspects, which are all affected under that supposed myth. Legs is just the most commonly referenced area that it would affect. But it would theoretically also affect cardio, wouldn't it? And punching power? I mean the idea that sex would ONLY affect your legs, is kinda crazy. But then again the idea that sex makes an athlete weaker is kinda crazy as well.
He either stayed the same or improved post-sex. Here's the video: NOTE: the one thing I didn't care for in the video is how they kept playing this cheesy music and trying to be funny with some of the stuff. Other than that, it's a cool video. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nDFelcPAe2s&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nDFelcPAe2s&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kg4sTHldr2o&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Kg4sTHldr2o&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
It's already kind off been done....Jeff Lacy, you will remember, hit harder than Rocky Marciano.....:shit::shit::shit:
I like this idea. Only problem is, if you set up a superstar to fight a can, whether it be to build his record or whatever, it might make fight fans less interested to see that the underdog has no punching power. Still like to see it.
