How can anyone defend David Haye after this?

I'll admit when the whole David Haye vs. Klitschkos thing started, I was in Haye's corner. I thought that he was legitimately injured when backing out of Wlad's fight, and asked to reschedule but Wlad said no.

Then when he walked away from the Vitali fight, I chalked it up to him being upset with the options that they wanted (which Chris Byrd recently mentioned that he got locked into) and Vitali wanting the lion's share of the money.

But NOW....how can anyone defend David Haye? He talked SO much shit about wanting to fight them, and ever since Wlad flipped the script and went on the offensive in interviews and that youtube video, Haye's been quieter than a mouse not even thinking about pissing on cotton.

And NOW it comes out (in Dan Rafael's notebook) that Wlad has offered to fight Haye with ZERO options and a 50/50 split.

That sound you hear is the crickets. Haye and his people have nothing to say and has not even addressed or responded to Wlad or his people about it.

What's that say to you? Personally, as I said, I can't understand how anyone backs Haye at this point. If he gets offered a fight with the guy he's long said he wants to fight, for equal money and NO options, meaning he won't have to fight Vitali next or give an immediate rematch, and refuses, then fuck David Haye, he's a straight up bitch.

All the shit he talked, he has had multiple chances to fight them and has found ways to not do it time and time again.

    PLEASE someone defend this.

When was this latest deal (& let me tell you, the others were truly wretched) tabled? How long has Haye had to mull it over with his team?

I don't know the details as to when the offer was made, but I'm guessing it's been in recent weeks or at least since the previous Wlad fight was done.

It's not uncommon for teams to take longer than a few weeks to accept terms, though.

Well.. if what is being reported is true and accurate, then I would say that David Haye's biggest enemy right now is himself. Everyone knows he would be the underdog against Wlad, but I give him a much better chance to win than the likes of Chris Arreola or Sam Peter, etc. And those guys went in against the Klitschko's confidently to get their asses kicked.

In a weird, sort of unnatural (for boxers) way, I think Haye actually values himself LESS than his fans do. Most of the time the case is just the opposite. But if this report is true, then I think it frankly means that despite rampant shit-talk, David Haye is afraid of Wlad and does not believe he can win.

If he truly believed he could win, or if he even gave himself an honest chance of maybe 1 in 3.. the rewards are worth the risks ten times over. Imagine a genuine victory over Wlad; it would make Haye's career. Even a really good performance would make him a lot more fans, and help to legitimize him as a heavyweight. His refusal to take such an offer (again, if it was as reported) tells me that he gives himself little or no chance.

Normally that wouldn't bother me. But in this case Haye has done so much talking that I am starting to really detest the guy. Further, I actually DO give him a reasonable chance to KO Wlad, which makes me hate his reticence even more since (as I stated before) lesser talented guys (with much sturdier SPINES) went in with confidence many times against both of the Klits.

What is David Haye going to do? Seriously? Is he actually planning to keep milking this for 3-4 more years in hopes that the Klits get OLD? I am starting to wonder.

I used to be somewhat of a fan of Haye, for a little bit when he was at cruiserweight. And his desire to seek out guys like the Klitschko seemed like a breath of fresh air, until you realised it was just hot wind. I hope Wlad takes his head off, but it seems like he won't even get the chance

Haye is the attraction here, and he is the one that people will pay to see, not the boring ass Klit brothers.

Haye should receive a 60/40 split, he's the draw.

In Germany? Both Klits can draw huge numbers over there. 50/50 seems the fairest way to me.

I certainly couldn't defend that, but both Haye and Booth are too loud to stay quiet for too long...they'll have their reasons/excuses for why the Klitschko fights aren't being made at this moment...until i've heard both sides, i can't make a proper judgement.

I've been quiet on this whole saga for the last few weeks because i feel there is an awful lot of posturing going on and i can't be arsed spending hours discussing what is for real, and what is phony...is Haye really gonna fight Fraudly? etc...

But yes....on the face of it...50-50 split with no options is a great offer. If Haye was to take an offer such as this, it would justify every tactic he's played over the last 18 months or so.

Haye vs Ruiz: Attendance = 20,000
Wlad vs Chambers: Attendance = 51,000
Vitali vs Sosnowski: Attendance = 60,000

I agree with the split thing but in the Klitschko's favor 70/30

Now rumor has it Audley Harrison will be next for Haye followed by a long layoff.

The Klitschkos have fought in bigger arenas...doesn't mean Haye can't fill them either. A Haye-Klitschko fight would draw a huge attendance in the UK or Germany.

I don't think there is a lot between them in this respect, but i don't think Haye deserves parity because the Klitschkos bring more belts and bigger reputations.

Well it's such a big fight now, the demand is far too high to stage it in a place like the M.E.N. which is only 23,000. Unless you mean hold it at Old Trafford or the City of Manchester Stadiums. Which are 76,000 and 48,000 respectively. I personally feel if it's held over here, it's big enough to do Wembley for sure. It's got that kind of draw.

However, as was previously mentioned, the Klits ARE the established champions, and are just as much a draw in their homeland as Haye is. They will probably get home advantage if it happens and 50/50 sounds fair, they could do Hertha Berlins ground or the Allianz Arena

 Nobody outside of England even knows who the f*ck Haye is, other than the very hardcore boxing fans who still follow the heavyweight division. I didn't even bother watching Haye's fights. He's just another boring safety first loud mouth type who's scared sh*t of fighting either Klitschko. Haye will get his ass knocked out.

Haye wants a piece of the Klitschkos as much as Tyson wanted a piece of Lewis. Tyson and Haye are identical in that they barked a lot of sh*t about what they were gonna do to their opponents but when it came time to make the fight, both guys were chickensh*t of stepping in there and kept delaying and delaying.
Haye is scared sh*t of the Klits. He knows he can't win, he's a f*ckin' cruiserweight going up against superheavyweights. And he knows those guys want to smash him badly and send him back to England in a box. Haye is garbage! Highly overrated!

I don't think anyone is trying to defend Haye anymore. A fight with Adamek would have been an acceptable fight but now that Adamek is fighting Grant, Haye gets another soft fight like he seems to want.

If this fight happens in The UK (which it won't) you can be 100% sure it happens in London. At the O2 Arena.

Haye maybe popular in the UK, but he is not the draw & he does not deserve the lions share of the purse by any measure.
Klit's are more globally well known, do bigger numbers, are more highly regarded as fighters & are more accomplished @ HW.

If the criteria was "whoever Karl dislikes the most gets paid less", then maybe you'd have a point.

I think Haye learned something about fighting HW's that he didn't know before. Either fighting the giant Valuev showed him how difficult a fight with Wlad and Vitali would go or feeling other HW's power has him gun shy about facing Wlad or Vitali. Either way he's now afraid of those guys and there's no need to criticism him about it now. He's shut his mouth and run and hid from the Klits so I say let him go quitely into that cowardly good night.
