    And yeah, there's no evidence of the dripping and drying. That was just speculation on Hopkins' part.

    Either way, Tito was clearly gaining an unfair advantage, and the fashion in which his hands were wrapped provided him essentially with a foreign object with which to hit his opponent.

    And it's not different than what Margarito did either - as Hopkins said, tape upon gauze upon tape, over and over, amounts to a cast. What are casts historically made of? Plaster !!!

    Watch Tito/Thiam. It's the perfect demonstration of Tito's illegal wraps at work. He throws a slow hook/upper-cut combo that glances off Thiam's chin, and suddenly Thiam is reeling never to fully recover the rest of the fight.

    Tito is every bit as culpable as Margarito.

    Trinidad had an illegal advantage, & unlike Margarito, it's been established in plain wording it was a career-long rule breach.

    However, I find it difficult to believe someone can't make the distinction between the way Trinidad's gloves were wrapped, & how Margarito's hands were pre-treated. The difference, to be sure, is significant --- which is not to say Trinidad didn't hold a seriously unjust edge against his opponents --- he did.

    well, can you describe more fully what difference there is? why one is fundamentally different than the other? i fail to see it. one approach (Tito's) was probably smarter in that he used the very materials used to wrap hands to add weight and hardness to his punches, but for all intents and purposes, what is the difference?

    REED, what the hell is the difference? Answer me this: why with layers and layers of tape and guaze was Trinidad able to punch harder, as his father confirmed?

    The better question is why did you state Hopkins' speculation as absolute fact? Do you accept now that Titos hands were not 'dipped and dried'?

    I always suspected Fres Oquendo when he was being trained by Felix Trindidad's father at the beginning of the decade.

    Fres was always a boxer, then he went on this weird run to a title shot. He destroyed Cliff Etienne (who was ranked #4 in the world and had beaten Lamon Brewster and Lawrence Clay-Bey in these great wars). Fres dropped him like a half-dozen times and bounced him all over the ring like Foreman did to Frazier. It was very shocking.

    Then Fres knocked out Obed Sullivan in really brutal fashion.

    Then he faced David Izon, who was known for his durability. Izon was supposed to be in line for a title shot with Rahman (after he knocked out Lewis) but Lewis successfully petitioned for a rematch. So Izon fought Fres and got destroyed in three rounds.

    Fres lost his next fight to Tua, which sidetracked him. But before he got a title fight, he fought Maurice Harris and knocked him out so hard that Harris had to quit the ring for a while because he was passing out on the street and suffered a brain injury in that match.

    Fres doesn't seem to be a puncher anymore. He only was when he made that title run. That always seemed odd to me.

    EXACTLY

    Trinidad was never fined, suspended nor the Comissions held any investigation because this was just a bullshit accusation without any merits. Only Tito haters loves to bring his name as a cheater.

    that's because Tito was smart about it - loading his gloves with the same thing they're wrapped with; made it difficult to prove intent; of course, Tito's father cleared that up;
