    WTF?

How is that a response to what's been written? Is this a unrelated comment? Because if it isn't, it shows a real lack of reading comprehension on your part.

Agree. But at the end of the day, he proved a fair amount with wins over Toney, Hopkins, Hill, Tarver, Harding, Griffin, Ruiz et al. His attitude problem was a tragedy but he still gave us enough to make some sound judgements about how good he was/wasn't.

We Also Learned that Roy Jones was 10x the Fighter Julio Gonzalez was (If Not MORE), yet Doub STILL REFUSES to Give Roy Even a SLIVER of Credit...

Yes. And given that this is just a message board, and that I couldn't possibly have known how much flak I'd get for being wrong, I did so listening to my heart, hoping against hope, that RJJ would finally lose to a fighter who was a hell of a lot more exciting to watch than RJJ ever was.

If you want to be petty and believe that that pick was actually due to my rational abilities, then you can continue to bring it up as if it means something. But know that it can never be a legitimate retort in any debate.

It's not a response. It's a question. Lack of comprehension is on your part, not mine.

Actually, it wasn't a question. It was a statement that I rank Darius higher than RJJ, which I don't. Either way, it had nothing to do with my post.

It Most Certainly IS a "Legitimate Retort" in a Boxing Debate...Why, Because U Never 1nce Brought Up that "Hope Against Hope" BULLSHIT Until AFTER the Fight...PRIOR to the Fight, U Spoke of STYLISTIC Reasons...U've ALWAYS Been Keen on that BASIC, Aggressive, MargaritoISH Style of Fighting & Julio Gonzalez Fit that Style Preference to the LETTER...

U Picked Julio Gonzalez Because U SERIOUSLY Thought he'd BEAT Roy Jones...But Instead of MANNING UP & ADMITTING that U Actually Underestimated Roy Jones, Instead of ADMITTING U Were Wrong & Quite Possibly IMPRESSED by his Performance That Night, U've Gone the OTHER Route....

NOW, the Prediction was "Facetious" All Along & Shouldn't have Been Taken Seriously...Whatever, Dude...

Well, if you're trying to defend the practice of giving RJJ credit for wins over guys he never fought, then I guess it does.

Yes. It was a bold prediction. One I will never live down. Put it this way, given the 10 years later, I'm still being confronted with that pick, I've learned to be much thoughtful in my picks, at least those that I bother to share. When I picked Gonzalez, I couldn't have known what was at stake if I was wrong - if I had, I surely would not have picked him. At the time, I didn't know how petty some people here could be.

That's nothing. Read the other stuff in the Hall of Shame and in TAA.

Roy Jones wasn't that special. He was a flashy boxer with good speed and a glass chin in a very weak division
