The more you type, the more the hatred comes through. Look at the bright side, you can find plenty of Trinidad or Benitez highlights to put you to sleep later.
Godfather brought up boxing. I said he gassed, I only addressed the fight tonight. Try to keep up Trpl, I know it's tough. It was an awful card, in my opinion. I thought it was shitty.
aren't most guys here boxing fans too? i dont understand this boxing vs. mma talk. i like both sports for what they are. shit, i even like high school, college, freestyle/greco wrestling. at the end of the day, i like seeing top notch talent pitted against another top notch foe. boxing and mma provide both a few times a year.
You didnt ask a question. I asked you a question and you STILL cant answer. let me ask you again. WHO CAN BEAT THE BUMS CARWIN AND LESNER IN YOUR OPINION?
I can't wait for Cain-Lesnar. Cain may not hit as hard as Carwin but he throws very straight and sharp punches. But Lesnar proved he's a tough guy to stop. Cain will have his hands full. And he doesn't want to end up on his back even once. Another great fight.
It should, considering it's been around longer and this is a boxing forum. Not to mention MMA wasn't that big during the prime of this forum. So...fail.
Yeah and boxing fans are notorious for calling some boxers bums but on the MMA board its considered an act of hate to call a bum a bum. Godfather was about to cry at one point on this thread.
Dude, I am a huge boxing fan. I've watched fights since Ali was still Clay. And I love the fact that both sports can co exist. The problem is there are a few boxing fans that must feel threatened by the success of MMA and the UFC in particular. They never miss an opportunity to come in here and trash the sport. I would be equally pissed if some clown was on the General Forum mindlessly trashing boxing. Why do it?
My only question with that fight is.. 1: Cain is a lot smaller than both Carwin and Lesnar, that's a big factor. 2: Cain had trouble stopping Big Bum Rothwell and couldn't stop Kongo despite punching them 1,000 times. If Carwin couldn't stop Lesnar, can Cain? 3: Cain's chin isn't that great, Lesnar can put him away with a big shot, standing or grounded.
i wasn't singling you out. but i'm just saying, i often read folks compare boxing and mma. i don't support one over the other. they're two different sports and business. whoever mentioned that duddy/chavez thread not being popular is dead wrong though. that was a shit fight even from a boxing fan's standpoint. i'm sure you won't get more than 3 pages of thread if matt brown and chris lyrtle headlined a ppv.
There probably was...but they got tired of talking about how Floyd and Pac wont fight each other and moved on and started trolling MMA boards out of spite.
My point was that boxing is dull at the moment. Which is exactly why they are here trolling. They have nothing else to do and are spiteful crybabies.
I thought Brock was going to wilt when Carwin was on top of him....I knew how hard of a worker he was and that kept playing through my mind when I was seeing him take the punishment. I was just hoping he'd do something and he responded. Was so impressed with his heart that it made me even more of a fan. :bears:
You should probably be banned for admitting to trolling. I'd rather have Hanzy back spamming to all hell than see you post once a month.
He kicked Shane off about three times. You cant stop a fight when the guy on the ground keeps kicking off on you.
Me too. The dude showed that he is more than size and athletic ability. He's got a big will as well. When he got back to his feet at the end of round one the 6 people I was watching the fight with went bananas. It just showed what the dude is made of. That being said, if you watch the replay, he never really got hurt standing. He was overwhelmed when Carwin exploded but only the one uppercut really landed solid on their feet. On the ground, the punches and elbows did damage but Brock was always aware and moving to defend.
understood. yea, i do see sarcastic comments and the word, 'bums' being thrown around. but then again, i'm not sure if those same guys and their boxing acumen are taken seriously in boxing threads
