Anybody read this on ESPN.com not too long ago? http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=5321435
Pretty solid stable. What's with Deontay Wilder not fighting on tv, lately, though? And keeping the advisory position with the Klitschkos? "Alright, we've lost interest from HBO, now let's make sure Showtime won't touch us."
Wilder just had a win over the weekend. Wasn't it Finkel (and Wladimir) who had some preliminary discussions with ABC regarding televising a Klitschko fight some years back?
I don't know, but they should have made it come to fruition. What they really need is for Don King to promote them stateside. They need a villain and they are both so damn clinical in personality and performances that having a regular manager doesn't work. Of course, they are extremely rich and fill german stadiums so it could be worse, but losing hbo when you are the two baddest men on the planet is a disaster. HBO is to blame; but so are they.
Well my friend is an up and coming fighter promoted by empire and they are definitely a boxing promotional company. They're out of NY and Shannon Briggs owns a piece of it too. Shelly will be CEO and if he does music shows and what not that's fine because that's the industry he came from anyways. BTW my friends name is Hastings "Sting" Bwaliya and he'll be the next WW champ.
Remember that guy who was going around New York raping and assaulting women, who said that his wife/GF was called Shelley Finkel and that Alex "Bronx Bomber" Ramos was his best buddy?
Maybe but why would Cedrick Kushner who was a really good music promoter go to boxing as well as Shelly Finkel....and also remember Don King promoted the Jackson 5 comeback tour and then came back to boxing.
I think it's a dynamic environment for these guys, with factors like competition, existing relationships, etc. continously impacting which is the better option. When you boil it down, these guys' skill-set is bull-shitting famous people with varying levels of sophistication, so it crosses industries nicely.
That's not a good look for him! Everyone is leaving music for boxing because of the pirate down loads.:notallthere:
