Not sure. I thought Chris Byrd was gonna do the same thing when he moved down (so did Leon Spinks I suspect). Granted, Chambers is closer to his prime at this point than Byrd was when he moved down. It's easy to forget, though, that while Chambers won't be fighting men much bigger than him at cruiserweight, he himself will no longer be bigger than them. It won't be the same Eddie Chambers. Not to mention his speed advantage will be diminished quite a bit at 200.
Chris Byrd is old and has some serious milage. Not to mention he dropped from 226 in the Povetkin fight all the damn way to 175 only 7 months later to fight Shaun George. Chambers just fought at 208 and 209 in his last two fights. He's only going to drop a few pounds. I think he's at least even money with anyone at CW.
Chambers is a pussy. Wlad took that guys heart. He could have stayed up and made decent fights with Arreola and Adamek, Haye and the like.
That's what happens when a guy weighs 209 and fights a giant like Wlad. Chambers is a cruiserweight, that's where he really belongs. He's barely going to have to cut weight to get.
Sauerland basically owns cruiserweight. He won´t let Eddie Chambers anywhere near his champions or the planned cruiser tourney. If your bets bet is to fight Guillermo Jones, you are in a bad spot.
