Golden Boy Promotions suspended in New York

ESPN has on the boxing section that it's a 90 day suspension and there's no mention of the 500k discrepancy, it's all about not filing papers with the NYSAC. They said they sent them to the ABA because NYSAC is a public deal and there were confidentiality contracts dealing with the two fighters.

They'd better explain that 500k though.

Yes. That's the conclusion here - we need more German, Canadian and South American promoters. That's first and foremost. Way to boil it down.

More venues that host fights, more managers, more gyms that cater to world class fighters in more diverse locations. More TV networks that broadcast fights. Give the fighters choice, dont leave them feeding on the scraps Oscar and such like give them.

 

I'm with you. But being in the states, I'm afraid it would mean I'd miss out.

 

America would have to do something it used to be good at but cannot do anymore cos it is fat and lazy: COMPETE.

Besides, fighters would want to travel. Look at the Klitschkos.

Nate Campbell and Ortiz splitting less than $200,000 between them is a disgraceful crying shame.

If there was something which catered better to them then they might have been able to take advantage of it.

Instead, they got Oscared.

Whether G was wrongly accused of anything or not it's hard to have any sympathy for them given how they've taken boxing hostage.

 

Thomas Hauser wrote the story first...Kimball tied the suspension to the money..that's the legal angle...
