This dude's been talking shit but he's promoting the fight by himself pretty much :dunno:

He's a strong wrestler, that's going to come and fight...will that be enough?

No he has ZERO chance, just like Werdum, Serra, etc.

I am picking Sonnen. He may be the best wrestler Silva has ever faced. Sonnen is a strong 185 pounder and will get Silva to the ground in my opinion. If Silva's ability to fight off his back is at all suspect, since he hasn't been there in some time, Sonnen could make it a long night for the Spider.

To me, the best way to combat a guy as slick as Silva is by using great wrestling. Sonnen isn't great but he's very good. But even more importantly, he is relentless in his take downs.

Good fight. I am picking Chael by split decision.

It's MMA, there is always a chance. It's not that good of a chance for Sonnen. The dude has what 6 sub losses? Lost to Jeremy Horn 3 times, subbed by Forrest Griffin? Sure the fight with Marquardt was a good win, other than that he's basically got subbed by anyone with a good ground game. I think even if he does get a TD on Anderson he's getting subbed. He'll probably just get KO'd before it even gets there.

And that's what scares me in my predicition. Hopefully he is smarter now as he claims. And how solid is Anderson's BJJ at this point?

I'm sure Mr "BJJ is Gay" has been working hard on his sub defense.

Really he comes off too stupid to even care about learning BJJ.

I'll be honest, I'm more interested to see if Anderson plays air guitar and dances like a shaman again rather than the result.

This is the first time I've seen Silva fight a guy with an amature wrestling style(Hendo was greco roman) Plus I'm not sold on Silva BJJ game either

    And none of the skills.

Sonnen is going to get clowned. He is being overrated from beating drunk ass Filho and Marquart, who AS already destroyed. Chael will be eating his word, big time.

The job Sonnen did on Marquardt was impressive. Don't try to diminish that just because Silva beat him.

One way or another Silva is going to have to be impressive to beat Sonnen. Chael doesn't have the skill alone to overcome Silva. No one does. But pressure and wrestling can overcome a hell of a lot of skill in other areas.

Personally I am taking a flier and picking Sonnen because of Silva's lack of pressure recently and the dogged wrestling of Sonnen. Truthfully; however, I just want to see Silva put on his back and forced to actually fight like Henderson made him do.

Well it is MMA, where everyone has a shot. The only shot that I see for Sonnen though is if that the reason for some of Andersons poor performances were due to him slipping. And, of course, his difficulty with wrestlers. You never know I guess.

I think he may well take Silva down to the ground, which in itself will be quite exciting....but i think Silva will have trained very hard for that scenario, and very hard to exploit Sonnen's susceptibility to being submitted.

So i think he loses, but i'm optimistic that this will be the most entertaining Silva fight we've seen for a while. If Sonnen gets the take down, and even imposes a bit of ground n pound, we'll be on the edge of our seats.

i'm picking sonnen to win via upset. sonnen's gonna take silva down and win a boring decision. i can definitely see it.

at the same time, i'm hoping to see that i'm wrong and that silva knocks him the fuck out.

has there been a prediction thread for this card yet?

Z, Jeremy Horn isn't a slouch. Sonnen fought him very early in his career. Horn is passed it now, but the guy is legit. He like many other fighters up here in the NW decided not to put up with the UFC politics.

I never said he was, it was no knock on Horn at all. Just pointing out Sonnen has been subbed MANY times.
