Is it a great scene inspired by Cus and Mike (many great things in film are inspired by real life incidents), or sort of in poor taste given how similar it is? Rocky 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaaVs5W6T6s#t=1m14s Cus & Mike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0Gfjg2V15E&#t=7m1s
I have never seen that clip even though I have seen Rocky V multiple times (the dialogue was much shorter) so our tv must have shown a cut version. What bothers me there is that Mickey and Rocky could never have had that kind of moment since Mickey didn't raise him up, he only became Rocky's trainer when Rocky got the title fight
If REED Recalls, Mickey & Rocky Knew Each Other PRIOR to the Title Shot...In Earlier Scenes of "Rocky I", Rocky Unsuccessfully Gets Mickey to Train him...Mick TRASHES Rocky AND the Idea & Mentions Something about his Streetlife, Wasted Potential & Whatnot... Mickey Got OVER All of that 1nce the Title Shot Came (::), but he Clearly had a Prior Relationship of Some Sort w/Rocky... REED:kidcool:
EXCELLENT Clip, F.Y.I. As CHEESY, CORNY, SAPPY & PREDICTABLE as Most of the "Rocky" Flicks R, they're Also INSPIRING...If U're Feelin a Little Down on Yourself, Pop in a "Rocky" Flick... REED:bears:
WAR Rocky IV! Beat those communist Eastern European bastards in their own hometown. "Listen to them, they cheer for him, idiot. Win!"
Mickey said Rocky was sh*tting away his talent. That's what irked him about Rocky. He saw potential in the kid from day one.
The impression I got was indeed that Mickey was a trainer in the gym where Rocky went but didn't actually train him since in his opinion Rocky didn't take his career seriously, which is why it is difficult to see the situation where Mickey would have gone that emotional with him
