I have never seen that clip even though I have seen Rocky V multiple times (the dialogue was much shorter) so our tv must have shown a cut version. What bothers me there is that Mickey and Rocky could never have had that kind of moment since Mickey didn't raise him up, he only became Rocky's trainer when Rocky got the title fight

Mickey said Rocky was sh*tting away his talent. That's what irked him about Rocky. He saw potential in the kid from day one.
The impression I got was indeed that Mickey was a trainer in the gym where Rocky went but didn't actually train him since in his opinion Rocky didn't take his career seriously, which is why it is difficult to see the situation where Mickey would have gone that emotional with him
