Just don't be shocked in a year or so when he derails the GSP express.

Anyone want on my Jake Shields bandwagon?????

No... He has 4 loses early in his career to relative nobodies. But he hasn't lost since 2004 and has ripped off 14 wins in a row.

He is boring, unlikable, and has the charisma of a pet rock.. But the dude is tough and finds a way to win.

You'll see soon enough. Although I have no idea who the "Top Contender" is that they'll stick him in against. Most of the Top 170 pound fighters have fights already scheduled.

His stand-up is so bad, Matt Serra might beat him.

Shields won't take GSP to the ground. GSP beats him up like he did to Hughes

He'll fight Kampmann at UFC 121. Good fight....Kampmann is the far superior striker here, and he showed against Thiago, that he's competent on the ground too.

We won't be competent on the ground vs. Jake. Know that.

Yeah, obviously you require more than just competence to stay with Shields on the ground. But he's got enough to not make things too easy for Sheilds....and like i said, on the feet he has a distinct advantage.

Again, this is what I love about the UFC. They don't feed Shields some chump in his debut. They give him a well-rounded, top guy that just looked sensational in completely controlling Paulo Thiago.

This is a great matchup. Kampmann is a big 170 pounder who came down from 185. Shields is obviously a guy that can hold his own at 185 as well and cuts down to 170.

To me, this fight will come down to Shields amazing ground control. Kampmann is no joke on the ground but Shields is relentless, always works and can ground grapple with the best of them.

Shields via UD in a fight that hardcore fans will appreciate but casual fans will call boring.
