I think Floyd is indeed scared of Pacman. You can talk about control or ego or whatever bullsh*t you like. The fact is, if he wanted the fight it would have been made a long time ago. That's fact! He doesn't want to fight Pacman.

He's scared! He doesn't think he can beat Pacquaio. He doesn't want to taste Pacquiao's power.

I think Floyd has gotten the better of himself. His "unbeaten record" and the ridiculous need to preserve it have skewed the lads way of thinking. He is allowing a fear of losing to prevent him from winning.

Yeah, he hates the fact that for the first time in years, he actually has to fight a guy who is actually in his physical prime!

PBF said in an interview he doesn't duck noone. If that's not proof he wants to fight, I don't know what is. Oh, also, he's undefeated.

This is one of the worst years in Boxing, period.

    Again...I disagree.

It's ego and posturing...trying to get Pac to do what Floyd wants. Floyd believes he's bigger than boxing therefore what he says goes.

Pac isn't the guy to pull that with especially now because Pac's got more options than Floyd and if it falls apart again...the blame squarely falls on Floyd's shoulders.

Couple that with the bad press he'd get...what options are out there for Floyd? Arum won't put him in with any of his fighters...can you see Floyd vs Tim Bradley on PPV? How can you make that fight? You can't.

Floyd can't and wouldn't fight paul Williams...that's a stylistic nightmare plus Al Hayman manages both.

    I dunno about that...

Mayweather - Mosley was the fight of the decade!!!! :hammert:

Just kidding....there really hasn't been much going on this year in truth.

I'm not sure I'm buying what you're saying Muzse. I just thing Floyd is afraid of the possibility of losing to Pacquaio and seeing his entire reputation and credentials thrown in the mud. I mean there's only so much stalling one can do before you finally wash your hands of it all and think "The motherf*cker is just plain scared!"
I think he's scared. First off we've seen Pacquiao murder some tough guys in Hatton and Oscar. There's no way Floyd didn't watch those fights and think to himself "Hmmm, this f*cker's pretty vicious!"
I don't think ego is the reason here. Floyd doesn't want to fight Pacquiao by the looks of it and it's because of the threat Pacquiao presents.

Mayweather still has options against Campbell, Bradley, Gomez, Berto or Sergio Martinez.

  14. Hanz

Yes, the world is clamoring for those fights I'm sure.

Mayweather will make millions with any of those fighters.

  16. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

Sure, it's his choice to do whatever he wants with his career. I personally could give barely a sh*t about those fights but I'm sure hardcore Floyd fans will. Whatever floats his boat. I guess he can get the money now while he still can. I just don't think he'll be "counting a million dollars" hidden in his drawers 10 years from now though. LOL

I think Floyd's 'brand' is diminished by those fights in this circumstance. He'd be better not even fighting.

This will be part 2 of team Pedquiao's sheer and fundamental desperation to cheat in order to win, and they will fight with smere and properghanda if they dont get there way, we gots lots of contacts in da media booooooooooy.

    :shit::shit::shit::shit::shit:

Only guys acceptable on that list for Mayweather are Berto and Martinez...any of the other 3 and Mayweather is a super bitch...

and if Pacquiao has agreed to all of Mayweather drug testing demands then May is still a bitch for ducking Pacquiao...

I have to disagree --- I think it's reached this stage now where only Pacquiao is acceptable. Enough's enough, & I know a lot of people would join me in feeling no one else is justified as a Mayweather opponent.

  21. Barristan

    Barristan Undisputed Champion

the same goes for Pacqiao...Mayweather is the only acceptable fight

Yes, but it seems one wants it more than the other.

3:30 am est Arum press conference. Definitely won't be a big fight announcement.

Nah. Floyd can make some cash, and fans get to see Floyd fight a world-class opponent. Much better than being inactive.

based on what? apparently you are privy to the contract negotiations. please enlighten us

  26. Ramonza Soliloquies

    Ramonza Soliloquies "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Based on Mayweather's (& Pacquiao's) public actions. That's sure the way it looks.

  27. Neil

    Neil tueur de grenouilles

that is interesting because based on what both Arum and Schaeffer suggested at the beginning of negotiations, all talk of contracts would be kept PRIVATE. go figure.

  28. Damien

    Damien Undisputed Champion

Yes, but it has been made public that Arum and Pac have agreed to a 50-50 split and Pac has given in to Mayweather's previous 14 day testing stipulation.

    What more does Mayweather want?

  29. Erratic

Dan Rafael basically said that even if the deadline passes, they can go back and make Mayweather-Pacquiao if Floyd decides he wants the fight. It doesn't mean the offer is off the table.

I highly doubt Floyd will respond by tonight, even if he really wants the fight and is totally happy with the contract, his ego is too big to follow this Arum-imposed deadline.

I wast thinking the same thing. Even if Floyd signs, he won't do it tonight just to make a point against Arum's deadline.

I still find it funny though when Arum and Roach say that they agreed to all the terms that Floyd wanted. As if he you just pick up where you left off the last time they negotiated.

For their last fights Floyd sold twice as much ppv than Pacquiao. So I don't think the 50/50 purse split will fly this time.
