If Pac has given into the testing demands and FM balks over the purse split, no one should ever bring up that 'cleaning up the sport' stuff again.

Mayweather fought Mosley. Pacquiao fought Clottey. That isn't going unnoticed by Freddie Roach. Mayweather had better come up with a more convincing reason than those numbers to tilt the purse.

Hey Im not saying is a legit excuse. but I have a feeling Floyd will want more this time around.

He also said the test had to be randome like he and Mosley took it. So that 14 day probably won't fly either.

I really hope he just signs it but who knows? :dunno:

    Indeed.

Can someone explain to my how stopping the testing at 14 days out is NOT still random testing?

It's random testing, anytime anywhere until 14 days out.

I hear people saying "it's not random if it has a cutoff date" but that's not correct. If it starts now and ends on November 1st (just throwing a date out) then it's random blood testing until November 1st, and random urine testing the rest of the way, and another blood test immediately after the fight.

Aside from the obvious point of there being no way he can take something in that 14 day window and it NOT show up in the post-fight blood test, how is this argument that a cutoff date means the testing is not random?

It's still random, just not random all the way up to a later date.

Forget 'random', if they did go to that 14 days, then they should tell them up front, you're getting tested when you're 14 days out from the fight...the random testing will be done any time before that, but on that 14th day out from the fight, you're getting tested.

Is 14 days enough time to juice up for fight night?

Good question. Don't forget a test straight after the fight.

I think the moment you have a cut off date than it takes away the element of surprise.

Mosley and Floyd didn't get tested all they way up to the fight. But they weren't given a schedule so that made it random.

If you know up to when what day your getting tested than you could put something in your system if you wanted to.

I am no expert on peds nor am I suggesting that Pacquiao will do it but it contradicts the whole random element when you wanna schedule during the process.

Did Arum just say he only discussed negotiations with Ross Greenburg and not with any of GBP and Mayweather's camp?

This whole thing is pathetic on both sides. Arum just made himself look really bad with his bullshit, claiming the "exclusive" negotiations with Floyd are now over but admitting that he's been in discussions for Margarito or a Cotto rematch. I need some vodka.

Mayweather walks away from a fight with Pacquaio AGAIN.

Arum even protecting Floyd with a possible reason, the uncertainty of Roger's legal life right now.

He has missed a deadline. Arum will now pursue other opponents for pacquaio for the Nov 13th date and while STILL leaving open the possibility that Mayweather will come around from walking away from a $50 million dollar payday in time to sign for the fight.

So the long and the short of it is that the fight is off AGAIN. Pacquaio will have one more fight before retirement and Mayweather will wait until Pac retires to begin calling him out again. All this has done is piss on an already tarnished sport.

That's the last time I type anything on this subject until there's a contract featuring both signatures.

What's ODD is that negotiations were done through HBO and there is no response from Mayweather. NONE. SILENCE.

From a man who trashed Pacquaio every chance he got, I mean, defamatory stuff, and when Pacquaio apparently agreed to terms, in testing, money, and the fight is about to be on, he is no where to be heard from.

    STRANGE.

Ohhh...so negotiations were done through HBO. I could've sworn before GBP had signed off on the deal.

Along with the 14 day cutoff, Pacquiao wants the number of blood tests dropped to THREE. And he wants those three blood tests on specific dates (specifically, one at the press conference and one after the fight). And yes, it's absolutely possible to use EPO or some sort of oxygen booster in that span.

What's pathetic is that some on here and other forums are STILL apologizing and making excuses for Mayweather. Even Mayweather's own advisor Al Haymon agreed to the terms that were laid out and STILL Mayweather is no where to be found! He is pathetic.

History will be written saying that Mayweather, despite all of his accomplishments, avoided the best fighter of his time, Pacquiao. There is no other way to view this.

This is the very unsurprising news. Mayweather weasled around and finally got Pac to concede his demands and still fagged out. Oh well, he's undefeAted and you don't know boxing

These ESPN guys telling it like it is and what I was saying all along. Chicken Floyd scared of losing the streak! Nice to see REED and Sly finally admit what was painfully obvious all along. Didn't have sh*t to do with roid tests or whatever. Floyd knew Pacquiao could ruin his career so he chickened out. He don't want none!

He did retire for a spell and then he said he's retiring again. Also, he drew little over 1 million buys against Mosley. A far cry from the 2 million they were expecting. Might have hurt Floyd's ego a bit I guess. Dude couldn't even beat UFC 116 in ppv buys.

Floyd has become a victim of his own perceived success. This "Unbeaten" thing is killing his chances of finishing with a flourish. Back in the day, a guy could have 10 defeats and be a live fighter, and a futher HOF. Now....that's gone. Guys are being dismissed with only 2 and 3 defeats. Hopefully what is happening to Mayweather might encourage a change.

You can't blame him for being worried about losing his streak. He's not like Ali where he took on the best guys in their primes and had epic battles. Basically Floyd has made his "legacy" by beating shot fighters in Mosley, DLH, etc in very boring safety-first fashion. And the critics are gonna tear Floyd apart if he loses to Pacquiao. You know what they'll say! "Floyd was a farce who made his career beating shot fighters and as soon as he fought a live guy in their prime, he lost! His whole career is a sham!"
