If you live in Australia, you become familiar with Pacific Islanders. Never seen one anything less than clinically obese in all my years.

Come on, he's aged. He looks to be in damn good shape.

Barrett won't go the distance, and Barrett is no pussy. Tua could become a good contender again if he takes it serious. He used to have punching stamina for weeks.

Always, & forever. It's in his blood.

He looks in pretty handy shape right now, & although that's no mean feat at his age, how much does it count for really? Even the least-disciplined person can break into great condition temporarily...& Tua's history is a solid-gold promise this won't last.

Even if it did, the moment in the sun is well & truly over. Tua was never a great fighter, or anything close to it, & it's to the benefit of the sport boxers as limited as he don't go onto great things.

Barrett has difficulty making it into the ring under his own steam, much less leaving it under his own steam.:nono:

He's taken a lot of beatings recently and is in worse shape than Moorer was when he lost in 60 seconds to Tua. Yes, the same Moorer who used to be the Undisputed Champ of the same Division the Americans now say is in real trouble.:shit:

This one will be over in 20 seconds and then the scumbags will be out in force wondering if David can "inject" some "much needed excitement" into the division. Like Moorer used to, you see.

Haye vs Tua. Make it happen.

Wow. Are you at all aware of the fact that these limited guys {Vitali and Tua} form an integral part of Lewis' post-Holyfield legacy?

David Tua would beat Tony Galento to death, then eat his entire family out of their house and home.

David Tua would do no such thing to Tony Galento. That's a fight to the death, & no one is walking away with an easy nights' pay.

Gallento has to be the bummiest looking fighter in the history of competitive fighting. He looks like a drunk old man fighting at a wedding.

That poor unfortunate creature, that son of lamb, the Police did rude things to him, except they didn't, and he couldn't explain his anal abscess to them, in satisfactory terms. Al and Jesse rode into town, and pretty soon rode back out. The Judge had a field day, because police brutality is a superstition, and Al is a false prophet.

Galento makes Tua look like Pernell Whitaker. Seriously the guy punches like a windmill. He's so open it ain't funny and the fact that you fail to see the obvious gulf in class between boxers from today compared to most pre WWII-fighters makes you look like a real incompetent oldie-apologist.

Agreed. Im not sure Tony Galento even took a minutes instruction in boxing. Just flailing arms and bull rushing.

How do you see Vitali doing vs Galento? I think it's a pick'em, in that I pick 'em to be reading Galento his last rights before he get's in the ring.

Well, they're both essentially tough, strong improvisationalists (sic!) who get by on their physicality. Vitali would struggle with the 5'6" Galento's 3 foot crunch, he'd be swinging down at his shins and dealing with jack in a box counter attacks all night, and Gallento would go all night.

are you guys just bored? no one can seriously think tony galento is competing with Vitali and yes even David Tua. you guys are just arguing for the sake of it, right?

i say Daniel Santos would give Hitman Hearns a run for his money

David Tua is, was, & always will be completely under-whelming. He is no better than Tony Galento, who was also extremely limited. Neither would beat Vitali Klitschko...not in a million years.

However, Tua was terrible. Terrible. There is no better illustration for this than his engagements with the horrifically ungifted Hasim Rahman --- Rahman is the worst linear HW titleist since Leon Spinks. He makes more errors in a round than someone like Larry Holmes did in his entire career. He schooled Tua. It was embarrassing to watch, especially considering Rahman was his usual out-of-shape self, & never had the chin to stand upto repeated hammerblows from a puncher of Tua's calibre. At times, Rahman actually outboxed Tua. Chris Byrd (as he would Galento) made a mockery of Tua. It seems it's all quickly forgotten as soon as someone puts a fighter in Tua's path who stands straight-up & allows themselves to be a punching bag. Tua is back to his grandest, then.

In-between, he is no better than Tony Galento. He is just as hardy & hits just as hard, & his stamina was better on the few occasions he bothered to keep in-condition, but man alive, was this guy ever exposed every time he stepped up...even if the, "step-up" involved someone as under-whelmingly ordinary as Rahman.
