Vic Darchinyan UFC possibility?

VIC Darchinyan wants to fight in the UFC - convinced a childhood spent Greco Roman wrestling could earn him a world title inside the famed Octagon.

WEC doesn't have a flyweight division yet either....

 

He'd have to gain almost 20lbs. His boxing weight is 116 or so...

 

So are the 135lbs fighters in the WEC.

 

Cutting to 135 > Being 135.

You can't see how he'd be at a disadvantage having to GAIN weight to make 135 and fighting guys who have to cut weight to make 135?

Zuffa would have no interest in Darchinyan. He's got no MMA experience, and zero name recognition. He brings nothing to the table.

The difference is, everyone knows who Toney is. He at least brings 'something' to the table.

Toney isn't really that popular.

They could just market Darchinyan as a CURRENT world champion and high level boxer. Sell his wrestling background, and he'd be a sure sell. Especially if he actually starts KOing people, which obviously would happen with a big puncher like Darchinyan, that is if he can fight at 135...which he can't.

 

Vic is a midget dude, he would be tiny even at 135. So you think he could move up to LW in boxing and be as big as those guys? Not a chance.

 

Isn't there a 125 division in Japan? Does the WEC only go down to 135? I don't really pay attention to that small.
