Come on man. He is single handedly hyping a fight that has zero real marketability. No one knows Sonnen outside MMA hardcore fans. He begged Dana for this fight and now he has to promote it. The only way he can possibly generate any interest is by running the smack that he is.

I'd rather have a guy do his clowning now rather than in the cage like Silva. And Sonnen is completely out classed in this fight but he will not quit. The dude is a dog in there and Silva will have to beat him.

And that's why I have no problem with Sonnen's lip whether he wins or loses because you know he will try to back it up. He won't, but he will definitely try.

I was thinking, if Silva clowned Maia for showing only a hint of disrespect leading up to the fight, he's going to have to wear a red nose, big ears and face paint to clown Sonnen appropriately.

 

I think Sonnen is the kind of fighter that will make you get serious in a hurry. He isn't a BJJ stud that will flop around. He's a wrestler pure and simple. He will work hard to get this to the mat.

Silva will either punish him painfully on the way in or have to work of his back. Either way, Silva will have to work. When he is pushed is when he normally shows greatness (i.e. Henderson and Griffin)..
