Khan. Marquez looked slow and faded to me tonight, and Diaz's jab busted his face up. All the more reason why that fraud will fight Marquez, as opposed to Tim or Devon.

I'd prefer it not happen. The reward doesn't justify the risk, IMO.

Marquez should explore other options --- at Lightweight. Maybe a long-awaited showdown with the younger, heavy-handed Katsidis, followed by retirement, should he win.

I think Marquez's pretty badly declined and I think he has no business at 140. He's small enough and slow enough for Khan to use that hideous leap and cover shit to good effect. Be a damn shame if this fight happens.

^^^I thought Marquez looked fresh & snappy this afternoon, which I was pleasantly surprised to see, but he is dancing on razorblades fighting anywhere above 135lbs. He's the champion, it's his division, & he can go out a winner in that landscape with two or three more fights, most likely.

Agreed. It'd be a real shame for such an outstanding champ to end his career playing opponent to 2 guys so much bigger than him in divisions he has no business in.

with all the available fights at 140 why the fuck would Marquez deserve a fight with Khan?

If the excuse is to keep it an in-house Golden Boy fight, Golden Boy has Maidana (Khan's mandatory) and Victor Ortiz (rated #2 in Khans division).

A fight with marquez shouldn't be on the table and that's not bringing Bradley or Alexander into the conversation.

Golden Boy makes money both ways. Obviously the fight happens in England. Whether its Ortiz or Marquez do you think it will make any difference as far as ticket sales go?

Can you honestly say you'd buy Khoward vs Marquez on PPV? Last night's fight shouldn't have been a PPV bout let alone any bouts involving Khoward.

Twitter boy will be too big and too strong. Marquez didn't look that good at all last night and thats why this fight will happen.

With the way Marquez looked last night.... Kat is a live underdog. I'll be pulling for Kat too... he deserves a big win.

JMM has nowhere NEAR the offensive reflexes now that that he once had. Often times last night I noticed him pushing out his right cross, which is the classic sign of a declined figher. Prime JM just snapped his right hand like a lazer.

I also dont like that fact that Boby Cow was able to bust his face up, without landing much besides a jab. Swelling up is yet another sign of an old fighter.

He's probably still too good a techncian and counterpuncher for Katsidis, but Mike has the type of firepower and pressure that COULD pull an upset.

I did not see the fight last night..and Marquez look horrible against Mayweather....

but i still pick him to beat KHAN....Marquez accuracy and boxing smart will carry the day. Khan is fast and has some skills but he is more Zab Judah..than Shane Mosley...

And yes Marquez is tooo small for 140..he should move down to 135. Even in his first fight at 135 vs. Diaz he looked like the smaller fighter..and he was.

You are right, that wasn't the right choice of words. What I was thinking is just that the fight has been mentioned at times for a while now. I don't think there's been huge demand for it, but, strangely, I think it would pull a good crowd & a fair bit of interest.

I don't think the decline is that steep, watching him yesterday. It's fairly clear he's finally begun to age, & I will admit Diaz implemented a poor fightplan here, but Marquez almost completely controlled proceedings, & I thought he did so with ease for the most part. However down on him people may be now, I will never consider beating a fighter of Diaz's quality with room to spare anything less than a very, very solid vindication of what you can do as a fighter. Marquez was swollen, but it didn't impact anything, & you expect marking from opponents with Diaz's type of output. It happens. I wouldn't say Marquez's face was busted up, & I don't think he looked so faded he shouldn't be fighting anymore, or should cherry-pick his way into retirement.

Were it anyone else in there with him, I would be cheering Katsidis. He is class from head-to-toe. While Danny Green & Anthony Mundine may dominate the headlines, neither will ever garner the same respect from me & others I know which Katsidis commands. He is all courage & commitment, & he is over-due for a championship. I thought he would have beaten Casamayor in a rematch, but that's neither here nor there.

I just couldn't turn my back on Marquez for any fight, though --- unless he fought his brother. In a way, I could be happy for either Marquez or Katsidis if they emerged victor.

Fuck Katsidis! The fucking idiot let Casamayor KO him and force us to endure more of Casa's horrible fights. After that loss I just can't see the guy as a legitimate threat in the division.

Khan beat Ortiz down in the am's, pretty one sided. Nice to see there's no animosity though.

I see GBP has done it's job well - as lemmings, we have no choice but to discuss Marquez/Khan. And yet, in fact, Khan's only claim to the conversation is his promoter.

Probably, but Kat hits awhole lot harder than Baby Cow, and he's hungrier. Marquez's timing and defense is not what it once was. Therefore, it makes it an interesting matchup.

GBP wants to build up Khan for a fight with PBF.
