Why do people keep putting this cocksucker on asking about his opinions on Boxing when everyone knows he's going to shit on it while saying "hey I love boxing....but...." Fuck Dana White.
I listen to sports talk radio a lot, and you get these ignorant motherfuckers on there all the time with this shit. Hosts and callers alike, "oh no one can tell you a heavyweight champion" or "nobody can spell their names" or "the HW division sucks so boxing sucks" It's shameful.
It's not so much what he's saying that pisses me off. What pisses me off is the wanting demise of boxing that is so prevelant on all of the MMA fans, and pretty much anyone else on the outside of boxing looking in. Boxing is obviously a threat because so many people love to say how it's dying.
It was a shameless self-promotion with two cocksuckers. Put a boxing fans behind the mic and he can bury Dana White behind his exact same answers. Nobody knows, who David Haye is? Counter question: I can tell you Dana every Boxing FAN knows, who David Haye is, so if you call yourself a boxing fan, you should know that, but maybe you are just pretending to be a boxing fan? Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, they get offered this crazy amount of money, but they can´t get the fight together, shameful. Counterquestion: So boxing is dying and crooked, how come these guys get offered 50 million dollars for that fight, but when your two best heavyweights fight, they only get 500k combined. Are you ripping your fighters off, Dana? Do you take advantage of your de facto monopoly in the sport? :scratcher:
He clearly stated he didnt want boxing to Die. In fact, Dana was just spotted at a boxing eventa few months ago. And he is right, he use to be a boxing guy as part of his profession. You make a bold statement that all MMA guys want boxing to do die. Thats bullshit. As for it dying? a case can be made. Even boxing guys admit this.
You have no idea how much MMA guys make (fact) And you can say that boxers making 30+ million a fight is good for the sport. Thats why you hae fighters like mayweather fighting once every year. If the pac vs. may fight does come off in November, The UFC champ will have aleady fought twice since mayweather's last fight. But we know its not happening in November. So if we wait until May, the UFC champ will have fought 3 times.
the truth is that boxing is becoming less relevant in the USA. that doesn't mean boxing is dying, but to people in this country it is... just like football is completely irrelevant here, doesn't mean it is dying but the perception in this country is that if it isn't big here, then it doesn't matter
True. And the amount boxers make is the reason you get fights once a year from the champs. My point is that when the man spouted how much the fighters made combined, i simple said that he doesnt know what they make.
Yes. I fucking can. It's called WORLD championship boxing, not the "Championship of Black and Mexican Guys Whose Names We Can Pronounce and Who Fight in America or Juarez".
Dana White is full of shit. He also does not have chronological command of himself. Golota was beating the shit out of Bowe, back in the Halcyon Days of the heavyweight division...1996, 1997. That's 13 years ago. Golota and Lewis was an all-European title affair. In the 1990's. Europe has a higher population and, ironically, offers the one thing which White bemoans the lack of in America- fights on FREE TV. White really doesn't know his subject matter.
Whack whack do you honestly expect me to go and look around whether their biggest star makes 500000 or 2.500.000. Truth is they don´t make shit in comparison to boxers, so how come they are all hot shit and can´t pay their fighters accordingly.
Depends on which boxers you're talking about...maybe they don't make the same as Pacquiao or Mayweather, and maybe some of their opponents, but then there's not a lot of boxers who are making that kind of money, either.
It is pretty mich true tho - boxers that are on the same/similar/comparable level to their UFC/MMA counterpart make more money. I mean very recently Rashad Evans and Forrest Griffin fought in a light heavyweight title fight and they made $130,000 ($45K win bonues) and $100,000 respectively. Pick a light heavyweight boxing match to compare - Chad Dawson made $800,000 to beat Milk Dud, who made $1 million himself. Chuck Liddell never made this much either - a far as i can tell the most he made was $500,000. He probably made more with PPV % sales... but he was the biggest star the UFC had this side of Lesnar.
I am sure someone will be on here disputing this but they list the amount that UFC fighters get paid for each card... i think the undisclosed amount is a PPV %, but it lists those as the purse amounts, and unless its a big star like Liddell or Lesnar etc i doubt guys like Rashad Evans are getting huge PPV %'s. Either way from what i can tell they make significantly less than boxers.
Boxers are the most overpaid athletes in all of sports. Even baseball players at least work like 3/4ths of the year to make 20 million dollars a year(the absolute best players at least).
Nah, they make much more these days. Rampage I think made something like a little over a million. Brock made something like 3 million...not including sponsors for either. 4 or 5 fights a year = 12-15 million per year. Pretty good for a sport thats about as old as I am.
Also - UFC 100, Brock Lesnar made $400,000 in the Frank Mir rematch, with no win bonus. Mir made $45,000. Like i mentioned these guys make more with PPV %'s and sponsors, but its still not close to the money boxers make. Didn't Valuez turn down over $2 million to fight Vitali Klitschko?
Okay...so? Marquez is a lil mexican dude who is not as love by mexican boxing fans as previous fighters like Morales and Barrera....and is coming of a humiliating defeat..... and BROCK is the biggest star in MMA.... I don't know how much Marquez got for the Rematch w/ Baby Bull...but according to Wikipedia...Brock got $400,000(+bonus,ppv,sponsor,etc) the Carwin fight.
A large majority of professional boxers barely make enough to pay for their medical insurance. A rookie bench player in MLB makes a minimum of 400,000 a season to sit on the bench for most of the year + get crazy benefits as part of their union. A 4th or 5th year scrub is easily making over a million a year plus benefits.
Yeah but thats not true so whats your point? Its rumored that brock cleared over 3 million for the carwin fights. Brock gets a minimum of 2 dollars per every PPV sold, plus his salary, a percentage of the merchandise and not to mention sponcers, which probably pay him the most.
Low level to mid level fighters from boxing and MMA make about the same. The difference is the main eventers. The boxing main eventers make more than the MMA fighters. But the mma fighters fight more. So that says alot about the pay. I dont think its a good idea for a boxer to get 20 to 30 mil a fight.
But Brock Lesnar is the heavyweight UFC champion - the biggest and baddest of them all. Vitali will make more money in his next fight than Lesnar did vs. Carwin. That's a very poor comparison to look at the paydays of a heavyweight cchampion UFC fighter and a 35 year old featherweight.
