I said he was an old guard, and a decent test.

But I was wrong, he's really shot. I should've noticed this in his last fight where he was incredibly unimpressive.

Or maybe Jones is just THAT good.

I don't care how shot he is, the ease with which Jones handled him is just impressive. Period.

I´ll say this. I think boxing needs to put more emphasis on performance. If a guy like Casamayor is lined up for you to impress and score a spectacular KO to add entertainment value to a PPV, and you epicly fail, you need to get punished.

I wish I had posted my picks, but I was stripping paint outside with the pressure washer all day Saturday. Damn.

It's is a combination of both. Vlad is clearly shot and pretty old, but Jones is pretty damn good too.

You've got to give Jones his due....on whether Vlad is shot or not, we'll have to wait and see what he does next....but the performance from Jones was consistent with what we have seen from him so far....he dominated Vera and Hamill with relative ease too. On top of that, he's still improving...he's not been in MMA an awful long time, and training with Jackson and co...he's learning a great deal between fights.

So you think boxing should have reward incentives? A certain amount for winning, an even greater amount for winning inside the distance?

Not incentives, but punishment. In a case like this, Guerrero should get an off-TV next on a Victor Ortiz undercard for 10k, and not another PPV date potentially a world title fight. I´m sick and tired of these mismatches and then the guy wastes 45 minutes of everybody´s life with his non-performance, when the fight should have been over in a max of ten minutes. But that´s exactly what is wrong with boxing. Didn´t HBO crucify Guerrero for the exit he took against Yordan, yet here he is again on HBO and everybody would have been thankful, if he had just left after round two.

Exactly. I can't stand it when fans talk before a fight about how stiff a test someone will be and then when they get easily handled it has to be because they were shot or washed up.

Matyushenko is only a few months removed from beating Eliot Marshall who was one of the promising guys from TUF Season 8. So he may be over the hill but he certainly isn't the pushover that Jones made him look like.

Yeah jones handled him very easy. Easier than most thought. Jones is on track to do some good things.
