No matter how good you take a shot, if your in there getting hit FLUSH at a high connect percentage against a guy who can hit as hard as Cuevas, you will not get past the early rounds. Cuevas KO 3
especially if you dont have any real power to get his respect... Cuevas, though maybe Baldomir is tough enough to take a beating for 6 rounds
Baldomir's chin holds up and his strength and commitment is enough to keep Cuevas honest. Cuevas on points.
Baldomir was at best a journeyman with no defense and no power this wouldnt be an attempt to pump up Judah which in turn pumps up Mayweather, would it? what puncher of Cuevas-level did Baldomir ever fight?
I knew some fucker would suggest that I'm trying to pump up Mayweather with my response. not calling you a fucker...but just saying... NO...I don't have mayweather agenda in this post....I just think that Baldomir is durable and comitted enough and Cuevas is skillless enough to allow this fight to go the distance.
Lies hurt more than truth. Can't you disagree with me without implying that I have a bias? You just enjoy unnecessary e-conflict don't you?
That's pretty amusing coming from the person who creates more of it than anyone else. Save it, Stafford, your agendas and act are beyond old.
True, Cuevas is an 80s fighter....therefore he'll knock out any fighter that was active in the 00s. What was I thinking....
No, but Cuevas was the 2nd hardest hitter in welter history behind Hearns, and Bumlomir is well.... a bum. Sure he has a good chin, but then again what puncher did he really face? And I dont care HOW good his chin is, taking flush shots over and over from Cuevas gets ANY wleter in history KTFO.
Trinidad hit harder than Cuevas IMO....but we digress. "Bumdomir" is strong and filled with heart. Difficult guy to stop. Trinidad would have stopped Baldomir no doubt..but Cuevas aint no Tito.
Since you asked... You were thinking Baldomir fought Mayweather so you need to make Baldomir seem better than he really was.
I think Cuevas hit harder than Trinidad with his left hook. But Tito had a much better offensive arsenal and could punch deadly with either hand. Either way, because it would be a war, I don't see how Baldomir stays away from Cuevas best shots. And while his chin would hold up for a round or two, he wouldn't last too long getting hit with those type of shots.
Cuevas was a pretty terrific champion, Sly, you underrate him immensley and he beat and knocked out better welterweights than Carlos Baldomir
I would say Robinson hit as hard if not harder than either guy. And Robinson had the power in BOTH hands, moreso than what Hearns or Cuevas did.
Obviously, Ray Robinson was a VERY GOOD Puncher, but REED Thinks Hearns Right Cross was HARDER than Any Punch Robinson had in his Arsenal...REED Couldn't See Basilio (a Blown Up Welter, just like Robinson) Withstanding Hearns Shots, as he Did Robinson's.... Ray was GREATER & BETTER than Hearns, but a HARDER Puncher???....Hmmmm???.... REED:mj:
Robinson's punching power is ridiculously overrated on basically a couple of feats rather than a solid KO percentage and a career of really hurting guys.
Sly will say "Bumlomir was shot when Alverez KO'd him"..... which is true, but regardless it'd wouldnt matter. Cuevas would have knocked Bumlomir unconscious for several minutes.
like you have even the slightest idea what you are talking about I've actually jumped off of my roof, flapped my arms like wings and flown to New York City and and back more times than you have watched a whole Robinson fight and one whole fight from maybe two of his opponents
