I can't believe I used to waste time in my life to argue with a fucking know nothing like REED.

Jacobs was up 3-1 at the time of the stoppage, pirog landed a great right hand, the same one he'd been landing all night. Pirog has got some serious skill, and he was by far the best thing goin on last night.

Dev & Tim would dispose of these two homos.

Having said that.... Khan vs Ortiz is a good matchup, and I wouldnt mind seeing it. Better then Khan beating up old man Marquez.

Id be willing to remove all GBP fighters from the ratings at this point, in the hopes of seeing the fights that really matter get made and televised on HBO.

I think Alexander is the best fighter at 140 but i don't think he would have an easy night against Khan.

Steve Cofield, on HBO interviewing Jacobs after the fight, but not Pirog, and a video of Kevin Iole's reaction to the fight:

Rafael chimes in on HBO's Pirog-snub:

You can decide if he's parroting Iole's comments in regard to Pirog's "excellent interpreter".

Why might HBO have been rehabilitating Danny Jacobs so quickly after the fight?

    Steve Kim on the matter:

Now that he has in fact lost, how long will the wait be until he is back on the network?

strangest of all, I don't see any star potential in Jacob, I may be wrong, but even if he turns out to be very good or even great ( wich is very very doubtfull ), I doubt he'll ever be a draw.

Khan looks like a big goldfish in that picture. Pretty, vacant eyes just swimming forward forward, reacting, blankly, doing what his DNA thinks best.

Well, Jacobs was a decorated amateur from New York, so there was going to be hype, and then given who he's with (Al Haymon, Golden Boy, who basically run HBO boxing), there was going to be over-hype...and over-exposure.

I didn't see the need for him to be getting as many HBO/HBO PPV fights as he'd been getting at this stage of his career.

I don't know what his star potential is, but I think that whatever his actual potential is, it's some ways away.

I think he still has some physical maturing to do. The way he fights, and this goes back to before the Pirog fight (Michael Walker and Ishe Smith come to mind), I just think he spends too much time punching in reverse, at times not even setting his feet or really committing to punches, but just throwing with his arms...you're not going to discourage a lot top middleweights doing that.

So that was a sign to me he wasn't really ready. Will he be eventually? Maybe. If he is, great, let's see him on HBO then. If not, then why is he even on HBO to begin with?
