THIS wouldn't surprise me. Exactly the type of thing which would appeal to Floyd's ego. Football is broadcast in 3d here now, this isn't a laughable idea.

As great as it would undoubtedly be to see Floyd dribbling all over himself on the canvas in 3D, I couldn't give that much of a fuck as long as I see the fight. It's a stupid fuckin reason not to make it happen.

but just think how much MORE money they could rape the fans for with 3D? If you already pay way more for HD versions, imagine what the 3D versions will be?

Floyd is just THAT self absorbed, IMO. To him something like that would be history, pushing the sport forward, and the world 'would see his skills showcased in their full glory' blah blah.

Its definitely a way to wring an extra 5-10% out the ppv revenue and a fight this big is the ideal platform to promote it. I have a feeling this is credible, as petty as it sounds.

Didn't know Scoop Jackson was still at ESPN. He raised a few issues, taxes being one of them...that's been brought up a few times, including by Sr.

Whatever the case may be, I still think it's likely we'll see them fight in May.

If I ever saw somebody watching a fight with those stupid 3D glasses on, I'd probably punch them right in the face................and I'm a pretty peaceful man. :nono:

I'd tell them I was giving them the full 3D effect.

I'm glad that somebody is finally making a stand.
Hopefully the comission will legislate that ALL fights should be aired in 3D.

No shit. It seems Scoops only problem is the fact that Floyd hasn't come out with one of his usual array of excuses and if he in fact had done that then apparently Scoop would be satisfied.

I also found this particular part of the article interesting:

Every morning when I enter my office I walk past an 11-inch by 14-inch framed image of a boxer. He's throwing a low jab into the midsection of another opponent he was supposed to lose to. Adjacent to the photo are the words "Better Than Ever." The fighters in the pic? Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley, circa May 2010.

Does that confuse anyone else? Because as far as I know nobody thought Mosley was going to beat Floyd.

    First steroids, now 3D.

Not only is Floyd cleaning up the sport, but he's improving quality for fans.

He's a truely wonderful human being and an asset to boxing. :bears:

When you think about it, he's cleaning up the sport both physically and visually.

So you're saying Scoop's quote was referencing Hanzy's prediction?

Because I don't recall anyone else thinking Shane was going to win and it certainly wasn't reflected in the betting lines as Floyd was a favorite there as well from day one.

Jeez you'll go to any lengths for your hero won't you?

    http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/08/21/10/pacquiaos-punch-can-kill-mayweather

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s accurate punches can put a stop on the winning streak of undefeated pugilist Floyd Mayweather, Jr., the father of Mexican boxing legend Erik Morales said.
Jose Morales, a former fighter who serves as Erik’s trainer, even said that Pacquiao will prevail by Round 8 if a super fight between the Filipino champ and the outspoken American actually plays out.
“He’s very sharp, throws many accurate punches and keeps the pressure on his opponents. That’s why he will win,” the elder Morales told Mark “Scoop” Malinowski of BoxingInsider.com.
Jose described the world’s only 7-division champion as "very aggressive" and will be too much for Mayweather.
“The punch of Manny Pacquiao can kill him very easily,” Jose said. “It can put him down very easily. So he cannot handle that.”
His son, on the other hand, refused to pick between Mayweather and Pacquiao because he believes the fight will not materialize.
“When they are gonna make the fight – talk to me. I don’t think it’s going to happen,” Erik told Malinowski.
“Because it’s never gonna happen. It’s not gonna happen. (Then, with a smile he added) Mayweather is playing with all you guys,” the 3-division world champion continued.

Mayweather may fight Morales first if he reads those comments.
