They're obviously compteting for viewers and you know this. Stop playing dumb. Boxing and UFC are on, PPV or not, at the same time on the same night all the time.
There is no competition tho. People watch both. If you are a fan of boxing and a fan of MMA, you will be watching both shows. and the UFC and boxing Promoters know this.
This fight doesn't mean shit for either sport. The outcome isn't going to end the boxing vs MMA debate or even be relavant in that discussion. Neither guy is at the top of their respective sport so it really means jack shit. To me it's doesn't matter who wins, it's just an interesting fight. Nothing more, nothing less.
I think so. A good chunk. If not, you can just catch the countless replays on HBO and Showtime or when it becomed available OnDemand
I dont remember him saying that. Unless you two had a private convo. I remember him saying that he wouldnt troll anymore. And he hasnt been. Thanks for that btw Andrew
I am a fan of both sports. But I am still a much bigger boxing fan in terms of the pure sport. I am rooting for Toney big time! And i have never really liked Toney ever. I think I rooted for him against Nunn, and against Ruiz and that's about it in all of his 80+ boxing matches
In Colorado (which is all i can speak for in this country), this is also not a true statement - emphatically untrue, actually.
Best post of the thread. It's meaningless in the debate. A 47 year old MMA fighter that has looked like shit for the last couple years versus a boxer that really looked about the same. And it is an interesting fight. It reminds me of the early days of the UFC when it pitted various styles against each other.
Also very untrue here. I know a bunch of UFC fans (not MMA fans) that don't know anything about boxing.
It was a private convo actually. That's why I was surprised about the attitude. Regardless, he indicated that he didn't have any interest in posting in here anymore. Evidently that's changed.
I won't come here and blast events after they happen (which I didn't consider trolling, rather speaking my mind but it hurt feelings so I stopped)... but when a boxer is being discussed, I'm in. That's why I post here in the first place. To talk about boxing and boxers. The attitude comes from you calling me out publically. Besides, it was only a bit of attitude. Not a lot. Just a little.
i admit i hardly know shit about MMA. but in comparison to what most MMA fans Ive encountered know about boxing Im a fuckin guru.
To get back on topic a little bit, I have a question for those interested in this fight. I can remember back when Lesnar beat Couture many slammed MMA because a novice was able to beat an MMA legend like Couture. In fact, even the arguement that Lesnar had a huge wrestling background didn't hold water because he knocked Couture out with punches. So, shouldn't a multi-division boxing champion like Toney, who knocked out a professional boxer less than a year ago, be able to easily handle Couture? After all Lesnar was a novice with no boxing experience and he knocked Randy out..
I started off asking an innocent question. Instead I get attitude and then get accused of calling you out. I simply provided clarification: if I were calling you out, I'd do it plainly. You're in a bad mood today or something, dude.
toney knocked out a professional boxer who was wearing basketball shorts into the ring. and got hit with flush shots from that clown in the process.
