Obviously boxing-related. Sometimes you can make a throwaway comment, get called on it, and then end up defending what, on closer inspection, is absolute crap.

I once claimed that Steve Collins was p4p a bigger puncher than Arturo Gatti

I once claimed Ken Norton was a tough guy that stood up well against punchers. I was banned for two months and ordered to pay a fine to the Ukrainian Institute For Pillow-Fistedness.

I once claimed Vitali Klitschko was similar to a prime George Foreman for the purpose of disparaging fighters from the 70's as part of my endless efforts to make the current crappy heavyweight division seem...well..less crappy.

Arguing for weeks on end that Shane Mosley was p4p number 1. I was very young and troubled.

that's not THAT bad. tackie looked pretty good weathering teddy reid's onslaught to stop him in an impressive fashion. i think there were handful of folks who picked him to dethrone tszyu.

Ben Tackie was a strong guy, limited sort of dude but strong, probably the only man to really hurt a prime Ricky Hatton. Considering the huge fuss and disproportionate BS that came out of the yankee press when Phillips beat Tszyu, it is not unreasonable for people to have been hyped into thinking that Tackie could turn the screw again.

Tackie ended Freddie Pendleton's night pretty early one Friday.

Tszyu wisely switched things up a bit in that fight, boxed a bit more...served him well, he won just about every round while Gatt and Ward were busy playing rock'em sock'em robots.

Why p4p? Gatti didn't weigh that much less than Steve Collins after rehydrating from his weigh-ins.

I still remember esk saying Tyson would KO Lewis in 1 "with a performance so tight, you'd think it's virgin".

Qwerty's "Joppy lost because of the ring".

Someone else saying that they expected everyone to kiss their ass after Wlad KO'd Sanders.

I got OWNED twice by a made up article on Pedquiao that said, the Roach camp employed the services of USADA barred Trevor Graham,.. and that his secret weapon is banana's because they work like a natural diaretic for him.

By far the one I get the most grief about is my prediction (wish) that Gonzalez would beat RJJ.

The thing is, even if it had been a real prediction, which it wasn't, it's been blown way out of proportion. Afterall, this was on the heels of Gonzalez's epic battle with Letterlough (whose limitations, like Gonzalez's, were not fully realized at the time).

Yes, struggling with and almost getting stopped by Mr. KO was a great reason to pick someone over Jones.
