http://mmarecap.com/news/UFC_123_Likely_Headed_To_United_Center_In_Chicago_Illinois-2458 Forrest is a decent kickboxer with a decent BJJ game, but this probably is going to be another JJ beating. IMO, JJ dominates Forrest, he gets a title shot at Rashad/Rua Shogun vs Jones would be effing epic.
It's pretty fucking embarrassing that you continually call top 5 fighters like Forrest and Chael shit, yet you literally get on your knees to suck the dicks of any can Fedor has fought in the last 5 years.
I just saw an interview with Forrest where they asked him when he will fight next, he said he will fight by the end of the year. They asked him if it was going to be against Jon Jones and he said "I hope not"
Bones Jones vs. Forrest would B a More VIOLENT Version of Anderson Silva vs. Forrest... REED:hammert:
Bones still needs to watch for Forrest's BJJ, he's pretty damn stiff, and his legs have zero flexibility, but he did manage an omaplata sweep against Shogun.
Surprised that they are making this one, i can't see Jones winning in any other fashion than brutal. The only way we won't see Forrest running out the cage after the bout, will be if he's carried out on a stretcher. I guess the main factor in making this fight is that not many of the other contenders are available....i don't think this fight gets made otherwise.
Awful fight. It's purely to get Jones' name out there even more and hype him for his next (real) fight.
I hope Forrest does well, people are acting like he doesn't deserve to be in the same cage with some rookie. Forrest isn't an elite fighter, but he's a dangerous B who comes in shape and had pretty good kickboxing and BJJ. He basically outstruck Rampage, Evans and of course put a beating on Tito.(although he's shot) He's not going to roll over for the hype machine.
Griffin is a solid test for anyone. He looked pathetic against Silva but he's been a tough night for everyone else he's fought. I don't expect Jones to walk through Griffin.
No way! It doesn't get more violent than what Anderson did to him. I still think Jones wins rather easily since forrest is pretty much average in everything he does but It's not gonna be more violent than what Anderson did to him. No way no how!
Jesus man. Do you actually watch these fights? Rampage wobbled him almost every time he hit him. Leg kicks does not constitute outstriking someone.
Yes, Forrest won a fight that spent about 2/3rds of it on the feet. And knocked down Rampage with a leg kick, as ridiculous as that is. Maybe you should learn to watch a fight, and instead of smoking PCP or whatever it is that distorts your views of reality, actually comprehend what is going on.
Well, if 1/3 of the fight was on the ground, which Forrest obviously dominated, then how did Forrest only win by 1 round on 2 cards??oh yeah, that's right, you weren't watching the same fight as the rest of us.
The fight was probably a draw, and I scored if 48-47 Rampage. Doesn't change that Forrest won at least two rounds clearly by besting Rampage in the standup and there was a swing round thrown in there as well.
Jones is a BIGGER, STRONGER Version of the Anderson Silva Bodytype...& his G & P Is Straight Up BRUTAL...Forrest's Face will Likely B a Bloody MASK by the Time it's Over, which in Essence would Make it a MORE VIOLENT Win for Jones, than Silva's was... REED:hammert:
Well, maybe. Jones should obviously win but Forrest's face is a bloody mask even after fights he wins. That being said, Silva beat Griffin with his great stand-up and counter punching. Jones is great but his stand-up and timing isn't on par with Silva. And if the plan is to take Griffin down and win via GNP, then it will be a far more interesting fight than the Silva bout.
Rashad hurt Rampage with punches after the takedown after he postured up.Watch the fights with Rampage and Shogun to get a good grasp of Griffins ground game.
No Doubt... REED Only Compares Bones Jones & Silva in Terms of BODYTYPE...They DON'T Fight Alike...As of Yet, Jones has had Some Highlight Reel Moments, but Hasn't Shown the CONSISTENCY In his Stand Up, as Silva has... & Jones Seems to WANT to B on the Ground MORE than Silva Does, from what REED has Seen...1nce he Engages, Jones is Looking to Flip/Trip his Opponent, then Slice & Dice w/those Elbows.... REED RESPECTS Forrest Griffin (& REED Really Looooooooooves his Schtick & Sense of Humor), but Doesn't Think All that Much of him as a Fighter...It Just Seems like a Bad, BAD Matchup for Forrest... REED:mj:
No shit.. The ability to control a guy's posture is one of the most important aspects of having a 'good guard'. If anything, Griffin has an inconsistent ground game. He's looked good off his back in some fights but pathetic in others. Recently against Ortiz I thought he did a good job getting back to his feet off his back which he didn't do well in their first fight. All of that being said, Griffin does NOT want to be on his back with Jones in his guard.
I agree. But then again, you and I would probably say that about anyone at 205 except Rua, Machida and Silva.
