Pascal's will get the decision. Its's all good though, this is the opponent Dawson needed at 175.I can see a couple of more fights happening between these two.
Pascal should have fuckin run like Ottke. Crazy for him to stand his ground or stay at the ropes after Dawson landed so many blows early in the round. I don´t think Dawson would have been able to chase him down if he seriously ran, and I mean ran, not moved.
well it was close. i thought dawson was no worse than down a round. we'll see if pascal takes the rematch, my guess is not before a payday with bute
I can see 106-103, I felt I gave Dawson some very close rounds, but 108-101 was disgusting again. So what does this say about Carl Froch, who beat Pascal by decision fair and square? :giggle:
I thought Pascal's won but it was by a round or two at the most but like I said Chad needs this guy to make 175 interesting. This can be a good rivalry.
merchant complains about dawson making excuses then he brings up the shoulder thing which dawson didnt mention not one time. not never
and again...Larry contrdicts himself...now he ants to see dawson fight cloud and yet he called dawson's "meaningless mandatory" when cloud was the guy Dawson needed to fight.
Froch is irrelevant, his 'stock' will be awesome when he fails to get past the first round of the supermiddleweight tournament.
Even if it happens. People called him a loudmouth joke, yet he clearly beat Pascal and Taylor. He ran Dirrell and Kessler awfully close regardless of what you thought of the decisions. People said he couldn´t hang with any good boxers and Calzaghe would have put him to shame, yet he gave a very good account of himself versus four of the very best at and around 168.
to be fair to Merchant, he'd already brought Dawson to task on the excuses, and rightfully so....i was surprised that Dawson didn't take him up on that offer (of the shoulder injury), but by that point Chad may have realised that Merchant was painting him as an excuse maker. Merchant is clearly losing it....agonising stuff watching him make it through that final link....he can hardly talk about inablility to pull the trigger, when it takes him an age to construct a sentence. He mulls over every single word. I enjoyed the fight....i like Pascal's style, he can do the flashy stuff, but he's a warrior too....it was great to see someone who looked like a future champ back when he was competing in, and winning, the 2002 commonwealth games, follow that talent through. We saw Dawson in with a different style of opponent. Always wondered how he would react to equal, or better (as was the case tonight) speed. Against a slower fighter, he would have looked to counter his opponent's attacks, but here he didn't seem confident enough to do so and he looked horribly disorganised time and time again. 175, in the space of 7 days, looks wide open once again.
