No real surprise, they've got common opponents but haven't fought each other yet. Marquez is walking around with his hand out...and Morales may help him fill it...not like Pacquiao could, but he would get hit less by El Terrible. Dan Rafael:
Normally i wouldn't care about two guys so well passed it but i still think it could be entertaining. Another better late than never fight i guess.
Same, but what are the chances it will be free? I'm thinking about the same as Arreola weighing at under 500 pounds for a fight.
Fucking terrible shite. Pair of shot-to-shit fighters, years past their best and many moons removed from their best weights.............
Marquez isn't shot, but he is on the downslope, and I don't have much desire of seeing him and Pacquiao go another round...whether Pac's on something or not, he's outgrown Marquez.
Well he is definitely sliding. He used up what little bit he had left with that effort against Floyd. Morales is definitely shot.
Standard Issue American response for a shitty fight. "Oh the money is too big"...."it makes sense for all parties" Fuck off.
i speak the truth. i did not claim to be interested in the bout or that Id watch. if you are surprised it is being discussed seriously, you are a dullard.
but i agree with the irish knobjockey, it is a shitty fight. reminiscent of calzaghe vs jones jr. in many ways.
Calzaghe was at least near the top of his game while Roy was finished. I think that fight was more similar to Lewis-Tyson. To me this is much more like Forrest-Quartey.
I was thinking the same thing. Also though, I wouldn't be surprised to see JMM/Khan. Khan/Morales would be interesting since the two look like the same person.
both are past it. But it's stupid to suggest that JMM is as shot as Morales. Morales is at 147 because he is out of shape. While JMM is the 135 champion. JMM has more options than Morales. He can defend his tittles at 135 or go up to 140 and fight Khan. he would lose to Khan but it's a decent payday. Something I dont' see Morales anywhere near. I think at some point it might happen but I could care less. I rather JMM fight better challenges before fighting Morales.
Neil, it's in no way obvious that RJJ would've beaten Calzaghe regardless of when they fought. RJJ can wait until the end of his career to fight real competition all he wants, but it doesn't mean he would've beaten them in his prime.
Morales is naturally bigger than JMM in my opinion. Whereas Morales's days at 122 and 126 were marked by starvation and emaciation, JMM was perfectly comfortable fighting for years at 126.
that's bullshit! everytime Morales would go up in weight within the year he would claim he was too big for the weight. Looking at Morales at 147 is like Tito at 175. neither guy is making the effort to be in shape.
Nah. I think his frame suggests he fought under-weight in the best years of his career. At 147 he he's not out of place. And at 140 he's plenty big.
Looks like the fall fight might be against Katsidis: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=5497223
