    Despite having Wladimir Klitschko
on the canvas three times in their 2005 clash, Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KOs) came up empty handed, losing by unanimous decision. It's a fight he still thinks about today and hopes to change when he meets Klitschko in a rematch on September 11.

"I have a lot to prove. I have a chance to redeem myself from the 2005 fight. It is going to be a great fight. I am getting another chance to prove that I am the best heavyweight champion in all," said Peter in a conference call earlier this week. "The loss was a bad mistake. This time I am going to prove that I can become a champion again. For sure, on September 11 in Germany it is going to be a great fight. I don't have much to say because I know that my gloves will speak for me in the ring."

Although he lost that fight in '05, Peter had a string of victories, culminating in a knockout of Oleg Maskaev to win the WBC title in March 2008. The taste of championship gold would be short lived however as he lost the title in his very first title defense to another Klitschko; the returning Vitali Klitschko, who was getting back into the ring following a 4-year retirement. It was a bitter loss for Peter who subsequently lost his next fight in a mild upset to Eddie Chambers in an ESPN televised fight. Peter felt he had hit rock bottom.

"Everything was frustrating at that time. I had lost the championship and the promotion was so bad. I am OK now and everything is straight up. I have the best promoter in the world and the best coach in the world, I have the best manager in the world and I am going to be the best," added Peter.

"I will be looking for that boy [Chambers] again after this fight. I don't know how that boy did what he did but after this fight, I will take care of him."

Peter has gone 4-0 since that fight, all four wins coming by knockout and is now being trained by Abel Sanchez. The two have been in camp in Big Bear, Calif. preparing for this fight and Sanchez has been very happy with Peter's new-found dedication.

"The dedication has been the big difference I have seen in Sam," explained Sanchez. "I have been able to keep him in the gym six or seven days a week. We have been in camp for eight weeks and we are looking forward to a great heavyweight fight because I think he has put in the work this time. I think in the past he has allowed outside sources to distract him and he had a lack of commitment but I think his time, to me, it has changed. The first one was exciting and this is going to be just as much."

Peter is currently scheduled to break camp on September 2 in order to fly out to Frankfurt, Germany. Feeling confident as ever, Peter feels this fight will be easier than the first one nearly became.

"He [Klitschko] has not improved. He is still right, right, left, right, jab, left hook. He doesn't improve. This time it will be different. This time around anyone I touch will not be standing up. I don't think Wladimir will be able to stand me after four rounds," proclaimed Peter.

The Klitschko-Peter rematch will be aired live via ESPN3.com from Commerzbank Arena at 5 pm ET. The fight will also be aired on same-day tape delay on ESPN Deportes with a Sep. 12 4:30 pm ET replay on ESPN.

You would expect a nigerian to be humble due to his humble/poor upbringing, but this cunt is so cocky for no reason.

I thought the reports were that the fight went to that date because the Klitschko's thought there was an agreement with HBO....HBO then balked and that while SHO wanted the fight, that date didn't work for them.

It fell to ESPN after all that...a Saturday during the start of college football season isn't exactly the best time to look for a spot on the ESPN networks.

I understand what you're saying though, a next-day replay on ESPN isn't the Wide World of Sports.

Sly knows plenty of them. They had urgent business proposals for him. Today, Sly lives in penury, thinking about what might have been if he had not done that favour for the grandson of the Emperor of Ubangu-Boo-Boo.

So Peter gets a third chance to get spanked by a Klitschko? They're passing him back and forth like a teacher's answer key except they already have the answers. LOL.

    Sounds like my inbox.

Seriously, I hear Spam is a bit lighter than usual, a bit slimmer than usual.

Considering that this is his last chance at a title for any length of time, unless David Haye fancies his chances, then I expect Sam Peter to really give this a proper go.

He won't be intimidated by Wlad, and his people will be egging him on about how he really won the last fight, had Wlad down etc.
