You might have a legitimate point if Toney hadnt weighed in the the heaviest he ever has for a fight, looking and fighting like he was there for an easy pay day, which it was.

Toney took next to zero punishment and made what $500k in 3 minutes? Toney quit before he even hoped in the octagon. Hes probably still laughing about it now.

I'm told that Toney didn't throw a single punch before the fight went to the ground.

UFC provides a huge display of food for all the fighters at the press conference. He just didnt want to show his face. Its pretty obvious. He embarassed himself.

Toney is as uncomprehenisble as I've ever heard him, if he continues and he likely will, can't see much left in a few years

And YOU might have a legitimate point if Toney hadn't weighed the exact same thing when he fought to a draw against Rahman.

I guess you show up fat and overweight in boxing and you can survive but if you do the same in an MMA catch you beg the ref to save to after 3 minutes.

And again, if thinking Toney took the money and ran helps you deal with how pathetic he looked, I am OK with that.

I was wondering how long it would take you to show your pale, pasty face in here.

I figured you would be as embarrassed as Toney. I mean after all one of MMA finest non-athletes just spanked one of boxing's most durable fighters of all time.

Certainly a boxer with 70+ pro bouts, a chin made of granite, and the will of a Champion wouldn't have any problems with the guy you referred to as a non-athlete, right?

 3 minutes and 19 seconds. I guess now I know why they call boxing the "Sweet" science.

There's a reason you haven't posted your picture here, Chris. I wouldn't throw stones.

Toney can't box anymore, why would I watch him embarrass himself in his 40s, all punch drunk fighting in a cage?

Will a Anderson Silva vs. Roy Jones Jr. Boxing match....solve anything??? Silva has a hell lot more boxing experience than Toney had
    mixed martial art experience.

:dunno: :shadow:let see how well how well MMA #2 at worst pound for pound fighter would do against a shell of Roy Jones Jr...in a boxing ring...

Unlike delusional boxers, most MMA fighters know how poorly they'd fair in a boxing ring.

But funny, I have a feeling that Silva would do better in a boxing ring against Jones than vice versa. Jones wouldn't last 2 minutes.

The first time I hear an MMA fighter calling out a boxer or boxing, I will be right behind you. Unfortunately that hasn't happened yet.

Noons challenged PBF to a boxing bout, as did Silva to Jones, and I think Nick Diaz challenged Allen Green too.

Well he should he has been doing some boxing training for over a decade, he even has a few pro fights...Jones has not done any MMA training in his life...

I've seen Nick Diaz box...and I don't think he'd have gone all that far in the sport.

But he has worked with Andre Ward.

Big difference between stating that you would like to fight someone and actually calling them or the sport out. Silva was very respectful in his desire to fight Jones.

I'd love to see quotes from any of those guys in line with what James Toney did.

As I said, if I see similar quotes, then I will agree those MMA guys are delusional too. But it didn't happen.

MMA's boss wouldn't even let the best fighter p4p in MMA come to boxing to fight a washed up Roy Jones.

    Blame James Toney.....

My take is simple. A boxer wins in a boxing ring. An MMA figther wins in a cage. Neither is really better or worse.

My bend here has been a response to the idiots that claim MMA fighters aren't real athletes and embrace a culture of quitting because they are sometimes forced to tap. Those comments are moronic and the James Toney fight, while other wise meaningless, shows that anyone can be forced to "quit" in an MMA cage.
