McCallum by UD or late stoppage. I think the first half of the fight would be pretty entertaining and balanced, but the body snatcher takes over in the second part.
Which is no mean feat against a fighter as well-conditioned & as bitterly-determined as Trinidad, but I agree with you, Whiskey. McCallum was one special fighter.
McCallum would go through HELL in this one, because of teh styles, but he'll eventually win in the late rounds.
Only hell McCallum gets is from the cops who try to arrest him on assault charges after he leaves the ring. McCallum beats the shit outta Tito, and knocks him out at both weights. Just a different calibre of fighter. And EVERYBODY knows your hidden agenda behind saying Tito gives him a tough fight. You're the biggest Hopkins groupie on earth.
McCallum takes him out within 10. I think early on its interesting with some good exchanges but McCallum would gradually wear him down.
ai yi yi You're sounding like Broadway joe now. You don't want to emulate him, trust me. I have no agenda..I'm just saying that stylewise McCallum has difficulty with him. If I had a Hopkins agenda where Tito is concerned...I wouldn't have picked any other fighters to humiliate him in a MM..but I have.
Your boneheaded agendas are well known. And the more you deny them, the more you make a jackass out of yourself.
McCallum would just end up being too slick and too tough for the game Trinidad. Once it was established that McCallum wasn't going to fold his tent under Trinidad's power, it would be a slow, painful and methodic dismantling of Felix. McCallum via stoppage in the 11th.
how in god's name is Trinidad a difficult stylistic matchup for Mike McCallum? it makes no sense slick guys, counterpunchers, those guys were the ones who gave him hell... he liked an aggressive offensive fighter like Trinidad, that was right up his ally... it allowed him to utilize all of his best skills Trinidad is a FAVORABLE stylistic matchup for Mike McCallum, if anything
all the trinidad detractors must acknowledge this would be no easy victory for mcCallum. in fact, a win over a prime trinidad at 154lbs would certainly have been the crowning achievement of his career.
