Mike talking about the HW Division and other stuff................funny stuff.....but is his health failing or is it just the drugs he is on?

Unfortunately Tyson has lost his awesome 20" neck. It's probably 16" now which means he won't be mounting any comeback as he won't be able to take punches like he used to. I was hoping he'd make another comeback though. Once he aligned himself with Rooney and started moving his head, he'd be ready to win the title.

He does sound a bit diff in that interview, but that interview is a few months old. I heard him in a more recent interview with Dana White, and he sounded like his normal self. So perhaps it was his medication doing that.

In any case, Mike is an extremely bright guy and his insight to the current state of the sport should be taken more seriously than the opinion of most.

Mike is like an oil well. The trick is to tap the riches out of him without a fucking explosion or winding up covered in shit.

Sky {British TV} tried to interview him once and I was sure that somebody was going to get hurt, so would up was Mike.

 

The thing is, he gets a little excited sometimes when he speaks - as he did in the video - and you can see his mind is going faster than his lips are moving and it trips him up sometimes. But even when he does, if you make even the slightest effort to try and understand his point, you can (not directed at you, btw).

I've long wanted HBO or Showtime to have some kind of periodic (monthly, quarterly, whatever) boxing show similar in format to Inside the NFL...recapping boxing fights/news, with interviews and fight previews...a recurring Tyson segment (at least on a couple recliners, or perhaps a bar setting) would be a nice addition to the mythical show.

 

I usually enjoy Mike's in interviews more than just about any other living human. He seemed like he was hyped up on sherbet this time and trying too hard to put himself over though. I didn't notice anything wrong with his speech, bar the usual.

I genuinely love Mike. I think he has a beautiful soul.

I don't think Mike is a bad dude. He may have done some "wrong" things but he is basically a decent sort. I mean if Holyfield can forgive him then the least we can all do is let the ear thing slide, at the least. I don't know why people bring it up in articles, it should only be brought up when that fight is being discussed.
