Now the girl fight will be for the vacant WBC title,. although Ward is the WBA champion and the fight has no date, while Abraham/Froch will serve as a final eliminator. :kick:
What a crock of shit. If Froch get's past Abraham, where will the fight with Ward be? Oakland? Fuck america. What a crock of shit. Since when did WBA champs get a crack at the vacant WBC title, just like that? Fuck that shit. Now Froch really does have a reason to pull out. Froch has beaten Taylor, Pascal and Dirrell and if he get's this "title shot" he will have beaten Abraham too. Ward, by contrast, will have beaten Dirrell, Kessler and Green. :shit:
Well, the FACT is, Andre Ward has Been the CLASS of the "Super 6", Thus Far...He's Been PANDERED To Every Step of the Tourney, but he's Also Been its Most CONSISTENT Fighter... REED:mj:
You know how hard it is to make a WBA/WBC unification. Now all of a sudden we got the WBA guy getting a crack at the WBC title, a title Ward in particular has never been affiliated with or held. Froch has the lineage here. I suppose the winner of Dirrell/Ward get's the lions share for the final fight too, as they will will be WBA/WBC champ. Froch has a WBC lineage, Ward and Dirrell do not. BS. Plain and simple. And if Ward has the "CLASS" it's because he is fighting in Oakland and being "pandered to", as you said. I mean these motherfuckers have to get letter from Showtime just to fight, period...and now the WBC is added in too? Horseshit.
Who Gives a Fuck about "WBC Lineage", Dude???...Froch RELINQUISHED ANY Rights to the WBC Title to Mikkel Kessler, a Dude Andre Ward COMPLETELY DOMINATED... Moreso, Ward's Wins in this Tournament have had NATHAN to Do w/his Fights Being in Oakland...Ward Beat Kessler & Green Because he's SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than they R, NOT Because he Fought them in Oakland.... REED:shit:
I would really like to see Ward vs Froch...for some reason that matchup really appeals to me...more so than Ward vs Abraham.
At the end Andre Ward will end up with all the belts regardless. I don't see anybody fucking with Ward including the best 168 who are not on the tournament.
Does anyone still care what these belt bodies do? When this is all said and done we'll all know who the 168lb champion is however much these bodies try to muddy the waters. Ignore them! If anything Froch should be glad - one less sanctioning fee to pay in his next fight, which is only really a semi final either way.
I guess the WBC see it hard to justify giving a title shot to two guys coming off losses. But for the competition it would make a lot more sense for the final to be a unification bout.
Kessler should be the WBC champ and that should be it. I hope he got a nice paycheck for giving it up so easily.
The Wbc is truly the village idiot of boxing. Just changing the rules as they go along. So, -Kessler gets the snot kicked out of him and loses his Emeritus Wba title to Ward. -Kessler goes balls to baggage and beats Froch for his Wbc title. -Kessler then pulls out of the tourney with imo a suspect injury just when the tourney was about to get very tough albeit Green as his next fight. -Kessler was going to be stripped of his title but was promised a title shot after all is said and done. -Froch and Abraham are ranked 2 and 3 in the Wbc and were supposed to be fighting for the stripped/vacated strap having only lost once. -Ward is not ranked by the Wbc and is defending his Wbc title against Dirrell. -Kessler is then awarded Emeritus status by the Wbc and the Ambassador of good will Confused because of his accomplishments in and out of the ring when he had not fought anyone of note since Calzaghe. -They (Wbc) then vote to award Dirrell/Ward the chance to fight for their normal title against a rival title holder. A move they have tried to steer away from for the last 20 years. But this time they would like us to believe that they want unification? Ok. Nothing wrong there . On a positive note I guess this could spark a fire under Dirrells and Wards ass who seemingly dont even want to fight each-other to try a little harder.
How exactly are they changing the rules as they go along? Their rules (along with the IBF) state that fighters can't fight for a title coming off of a loss. If anything, that's the rule that's most often broken by sanctioning bodies for the sake of giving star fighters preferential treatment. Froch and Abraham are #2 and #3 in the rankings. Did you bother to see who is ranked #1? I think it's great that they're trying to sanction Ward-Dirrell as a makeshift unification bout. Not sure how it's any different than two vacant titles at stake for Marquez-Diaz I? Or Tarver-Griffin? Not to mention that (and to your credit, you acknowledge this as well) it provided further incentive to move along the tournament and force them to honor their contracts and fight. I don't get - among the many gripes people have with sanctioning bodies is their unwillingness to participate in unification matches, at least not without their taking drastic action immediately thereafter. Here we finally have a sanctioning body willing to do something for the good of the tournament (and the WBC has been in support of the S6 from its inception), and they're receiving shit over it. There are plenty of reasons to trash the sanctioning bodies. Just not for most of your listed reasons (which quite frankly, are far more opinion than fact).
Please Ward is not even ranked in the division and its down right naive to think this is about anything other then sanctioning fees and finally last time I checked this was an opinion board so if you want to talk facts then talk facts. Dont try to suggest that the Wbc has the best interests of boxing at heart. Thats ridiculous. Oh and any facts I did mention are indeed facts.
He's not ranked because he's a champion for another sanctioning body. And the sanctioning fees argument loses steam, for the simple fact that they could've just as easily approved Froch/Abraham. Same amount of money to be made in either fight, and they (WBC) would still be involved in the S6 Finals.
Look I’m not going to get into some eternal keyboard scuffle. This is a farce and it’s as simple as that. And its so obvious a blind man could see it. Some act as if these Orgs are an honourable bunch. What has Kessler done to deserve this super duper pooper scooper Emeritus crown? The fact that this silly title even exists only guarantees a future tax grab. That means like Vitali, Kessler can walk back on the field of play after 2 years off or more and essentially get a regular title shot. That’s a crock and also a fact. So what has Kessler done to deserve this status since Calzaghe to deserve such a distinction? He got starched buy Ward and beat Froch in a must closer fight then moron Tilleman’s score card. How that guy is still a judge is beyond belief. Fact is also that he left the tourney under dubious circumstances regardless of what his bought and paid for doctors say because imo the going was about to get tough and another loss would have not only sent him packing but also would no doubt have effected his draw in his own country. It also sets a dangerous precedent imo. So who’s to say the winner of this unification match between Dirrell and Ward does not come up with an injury and leave the tourney with both belts under his arm making the entire tourney a lark?
Let me clarify what I meant by cant stand him Neil. As a fighter I think he's a throw back. He will fight anyone and I like his gritty style. I certainly do not hate the guy but it's his personality I do not like specifically the way he dogged Calzaghe at the end of his career and his excuse ridden soul. And to be clear Kessler was my second favourite super mid after Joe when they met so my beef on this issue is not the fighters but rather the way these Orgs go about their business.
You are a difficult guy to debate. Stream of conscious rambling, inability to comprehend a differing viewpoint, and rather nonsensical conclusions stated as facts when they clearly are not.
Well how much the WBC makes largely depends on the total volume of the fight that determines the promoters fee along with the 3% of the gross earning of the fighter. I doubt there will be a large difference between Froch/Abraham and Ward/Dirrell, but they also sanction Froch/Abraham as a final eliminator and they charge for that. They cannot charge for Ward/Dirrell as a final eliminator, because either would argue that he doesn´t need to pay, because the winner is guaranteed a shot at the WBC belt in the final against either Froch or Abraham anyway. So in all their glory and caring for boxing the WBC turned one payday into two. Sneaky move as usual.
Brilliant retort. I'll have to write that one down. When all else fails claim the lack of understanding of deductive reasoning as a defense.
