Luke "Tyson" Fury

Anyone here follow the guy?

Big 260lb 6'9" HW with an 84" reach, decent amateur credentials and a pedigree of fighting on his fathers side.

His father once got knocked out by Akinwande in a fight for the British HW title. Not exactly encouraging but hey pedigree is pedigree.

He recently won the English heavyweight title with an improved performance over John McDermott, whom he "beat" on points in a disputed decision. This time he floored McDermott 3 times and stopped him in 9. He is now in line to fight either Derek Chisora or Sam Sexton, for the British Heavyweight Title in a few months time.

He is too heavy at 265 but can lose some of the fat and be a respectable 250lbs.

His chin has thus far held up, albeit at this rather mediocre level.

He probably has two major weaknesses: 1 is his father, who is fond of telling lies and who intervenes far too much in his sons career, and 2 is his promoter, fat arse Mick Hennessey.

He bears absolutely no resemblance, in any category, to Tye Fields.

Fields couldn't fight a lick and made his name/reputation as a pure puncher bowling over no hopers, tough-man rejects.

Both are 6'7" BUMS....:scared: only difference is that Tye was consider a bum from jump off....and never had any hype behind him like that british bum....but Monte Barrett in there with Fury same outcome as the Fields fight.

 

Not right now. I'm afraid Monte used up the last of his reserves when he fought Haye.

I see a third weakness. He can't fight.

 

He can fight. If he wins the British Heavyweight Title I think people will have to concede at least that much.

As I say, I am not a huge fan.

He's somewhat exciting, but not much talented even thought he's very agile for his height.
