This is a good match up. Normally mythical match ups on fightbeat tend to repeat themselves but I can't recall seeing this one before. Anyway lets get to it. I will go with the guy on the left by late round stoppage . KO9 (cards at the time of the stoppage would read 86-83 88-82 86-85) As we can see the guy on the left has a good accurate jab and that is one of the keys to beating a prime Mike Tyson. Also in the picture he is hit with a seemingly big shot but does not even flinch which suggest rock solid chin. One of his hands is down and behind his back which suggest high confidence. Which is another key to beating Tyson. All in all I'm just going by what I see here. Is there any more footage on the guy on the left ? A HD video of his most recent fight maybe ?
Good post, well said. Also, the guy on the left has a win over one of the greatest fighters ever... the guy on the right. What great fighter did Tyson ever beat? Light-heavy Spinks? Please. It's the intangibles that Tyson never proved he could handle. The guy on the left had those in spades.
That I think is a picture of his fight against Lennox Lewis? He seems to be doing better than Tyson. I pick this guy
The guy on the left is past his prime here, THAT version gets the hell beaten outta him by Mike Tyson. Prime for prime and we have an interesting fight.
The painted era was very special... GOTL had this peculiar thing he'd do called "punching" ... revolutionary, no one had ever seen such a thing... so obviously, he KOs Tyson
He's just too small to compete with modern heavyweights, i think. GOTL versus Jean Pascal would be a real barnburner though.
this debate isn't even worth having. there's no fucking way GOTL beats a prime Tyson, and anyone claiming he can is just being sentimental. yeah the painted era was great. but let's be logical here.
:boohoo:you are ignorant of the painted era how many murals do you have in your collection??? I got like 70 of 'em!
