http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/CSA...-UFC-117-26978 Called it. Now, I wonder if this means that Silva-Sonnen 2 is off.
He could roid again. He has little to lose and at the very least, he could say he "beat" the GOAT of MMA.
Obviously, there'd B MORE "Eye's" on him & he Should Undergo Pre AND Post-Fight Testing... REED:kidcool:
I'm curious when we'll get to hear another Sonnen 'quote fest'? Something tells me they finally found a way to shut him up.. It's really too bad. With so many sports having top athletes popped for PED's, I almost think they need to quit testing and let everyone juice out of their fucking minds. And then let the chips fall where they may. On of the greatest home run hitters, one of the greatest cyclist, one of the greatest boxers, Pro Bowl footballs players, etc. Fuck it. Let them have at it.
Didn't Mosley destroy Margarito... Anyway this is so disappointing, not only did Sonnen take Silva all the way, he was quite entertaining outside the ring.
Mosley was on PED when he beat Margarito? Its a fact mma fighters that get caught using are coming off a loss.PED's does nothing for there performance I think most just use it to heal faster.
Apologies. I took your post up wrong.. I thought all MMA fighers are assessed after the fight and must sit out for a certain time period handed down by the doctor ?
I feel bad for guys like Marquardt, Okami, and Dan Miller who all got manhandled by Sonnen and basically dropped several rungs on the contender ladder as a result. Hell, Marquardt was already in line for a rematch against Silva when he fought Sonnen. The loss to Chael gave Maia a shot at Silva despite the fact that Marquardt had recently knocked Maia out in less than a minute. And before that, Marquardt was robbed in a split decision loss to Thales Leites due to a point deduction for an illegal elbow which was actually legal. That fight gave Leites his forgetable shot at Anderson Silva while Marquardt fell back a notch. Personally I think the UFC should give Marquardt a shot at Silva in the slot that was scheduled for the Silva-Sonnen rematch. I know Nate was handled by Silva already, but Nate has beaten a handful of top guys in the interim and deserves to be considered the top contender at 185.
This Really Does Suck... This was Probably Gonna B the Most Anticipated RE in UFC History...REED STILL Thinks they Should Go Ahead w/It, so Silva Can Wipe his Ass w/a Roid Free Sonnen.... REED:kidcool:
Being HONEST about it, the Average Fan COULDN'T Care Less about Steroid Use...REED is Among them...REED is of the Mindset that MOST Elite Level Athletes Juice & if that's the Case, there's Really NO Unfair Advantage... The FACT is, Chael Sonnen is a GREAT Shit Talker who Came Dangerously Close to BEATING Anderson Silva..."Punishing" Sonnen by Suspending him & Negating the RE is Punishing the FANS, in Actuality... Go Ahead w/the RE, MAKE Sonnen Face the Music (As Entertaining as Dude is, he'll No Doubt Put a GREAT Spin on this Incident), Test his Ass DAILY if Necessary, then Allow Anderson Silva to Play the Role of Judge, Jury & (Hopefully) Executioner... It's Kinda like Pac-Margarito...Sure, Margarito DOESN'T Deserve it...But if ANYBODY is Equipped to Give Margarito the Kind of Asswhipping that he DESERVES, it's Manny Pac... REED:bears:
That is what I said in my original post in this thread. Fuck testing. Let everyone juice if they wish and let the chips fall where they may. I am tired of failed test attempting to revise history. Accusations or failed test can't take back homeruns, can't take back knockouts, and they can't take back Tour De France wins. So the whole effort is pointless.
Testing should be improved if anything. Athletes occasionally need to be protected from themselves because most will do almost anything to win. Like Tito Ortiz once said, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying".
They're being punished already. A guy like Nate Marquardt has a loss on his record to Sonnen. There is no blimish or asterisk because Sonnen didn't fail a test after that fight. Does that mean he wasn't juicing then? Probably not. Meanwhile Maquardt doesn't get to go back and undo history. He has a loss and fell a few rungs on the contender ladder as a result. So, he was already punished for NOT cheating.
I don't agree, and this news sheds new light on why Sonnen looked as good as he did. He was on PED's. Should he be rewarded for looking good because he was on roids? Ridiculous! He WILL be suspended, so you can bet the fight is off.
So what would you say to a good, honest fighter who doesn't want to put ony of these substances in his body?
I would say they still have a chance to win even without the help of PED's. Ask Silva, Lesnar, and Jon Fitch who all tested clean after beating fighters that FAILED drug tests. It wouldn't be perfect but at least you would know going in.
Wow, I knew that would be the response as I typed his name. Trust me, I am not naive when it comes to Lesnar. That being said, he never failed a test either as an MMA fighter or as a college wrestler. And that really hammers home my point. There won't be any more speculation or guys beating test. Rather than assume or wonder about Manny or Brock, we will know.
