:bears: War Stevie!!! I hate it when hardcore mma fanatics try to throw disrespect at boxing fans. We're paying customers, we can talk sh*t as much as we like.
There have been some good significant mma fights in the past. Fedor/CroCop was a big fight which happened at the right time, during the primes of both back in 2005. It was for the heavyweight title and a decent fight although CroCop looked scared as f*ck at times.
I've always thought so. I've seen each of the first 10-15 UFC's tons of times, there was a small movie store on my street back home in Newfoundland that had all the early ones. We used to rent them all the time.
I ordered UFC 1-7 all on ppv until they banned it from canadian ppv, so I had to buy tapes overseas. They brought UFC back to canadian tv a couple years later.
My dear friend stevie, what is your most important opinion of all these TUF noobs, or as a yank would say "Johnny Come Latelys", who think they know MMA just because they watched some TUF?
They don't really have an understanding of how long to takes for a sport to become legitimate. Contrary to popular opinion, MMA is still a sport that talented guys can pick up and become elite over a very brief time period in comparison to anything else out there. All of a sudden everyone is an expert. I mean, Z would have to watch MMA for another 10 years to have been watching for as long as I have right now.
Also, I'd like to squash a myth. Lesnar is given credibilty by some in MMA circles because of his wrestling background. Fair. The only thing is, he knocked Randy out with punches.
Is this some type of Brock Lesnar agenda thread? As if the sports of MMA and boxing are even remotely related...
My single previous post in this thread holds 100% true. Steve_Dave when considering the rise in MMA's popularity: :Steve-Dave/MMA: You can talk all you want about inexperienced fighters beating veterans but all that matters is that fans love the sport and can't wait for the next event. And damn that really gets you, doesn't it?
To be honest, you don't strike me as an idiot. Odds dictate there's at least a 90% chance that you are... and your cage fighting fandom doesn't bode well. But no, I'm not calling you an idiot. I guess. :nono:
And since, by your own proclamation, you've been watching MMA longer than most people can we accurately surmise that you are king of the idiots?
I watched when I was a child. I grew up, became a man, and left behind kiddy stuff like the UFC. All children are idiots.
Steve Dave, you're still a homo!! and you have not been watching MMA longer than me that is a fact. Mr, I hate MMA but I've watched every event since 1993. ::
I used to watch REAL cage fighting, none of this watered down bunkum the kids are watching these days!
Thank you, I was clearly ahead of my time on that one. LOL. Good to see steve_dave has loosened up since then and can appreciate MMA. It takes a big man to realize he's wrong and then admit it to the forum.:bears:
